Two thumbs up for MGLoraine of NY: Teabaggers are corporate funded "astroturf"

JCC in Texas of TX 10:45AM September 10, 2010

The teabaggers didn't spontaneously rise up in anger at the bank bailouts. They showed up last August in response to the pending health insurance reform. Last week's article in the New Yorker pointed out that they were corporate creations, funded by people like the Koch brothers and other rich fat-cats. Their assignment is to protest the reforms being attempted by the administration - like health care and finreg - because those reforms threaten to reduce (microscopically) the profiteering of the unregulated corporatists. Aside from the few hate groupies who have latched onto the teabagger spectacle to publicize their own agendas, most of the herds are just clueless right-wing very white folks who were given a free ride on the bus and complementary refreshments by their corporate sponsors.

So it wasn't the bank bailouts, it was the threat/promise of government regulation of irresponsible corporatists which spurred those corporatists to create and fund the teabagger circuses.

Enjoy the repetition...

Did change a few words. THANKS...

Republicans: You say you're against socialism, but Bush passed Medicare part D (a huge social health care program). Plus Tea Party members refuse to cut medicare or social security (don't cut my favorite socialist programs, I'm entitled to them!) while they yell "down with socialism!" The republicans have shifted money and power to communist countries like China by opening their markets. Turns out free trade has made China a very powerful country and ruined our manufacturing base, but the corporations are making record profits and that's what matters. Surprisingly some republicans think that China's communist anti-Christian leaders will someday wake up and support freedom. Tea party members yell "pride, charity, freedom, God, country" and then support leaders that send factories, money, and technology to countries that hate all these things. Americans will have to take a 70% pay cut in order to bring down the cost of production to meet China. A Chinese engineer making wind turbines makes $7,000 per year! (and they're very intelligent and qualified). Thanks globalization republicans!

For those of us who invest in stock market or have retirement plans. Maybe work for a larger company. We are the billionaires that TARP SAVED. Had Wall Street failed 10% admitted unemployment would be great. Depression a real reality.

Bush’s TARP is nearly all paid back with $19 billion interest.

What caused the mess was bad home loan paper owned by the institutions. Bill Clinton’s plan in particular. Bush had plan with low down payment but home buyer had to be qualified which was a better alternative to Clinton’s plan.

Bush warned of possible crisis with Fannie and Freddie as well as rest of financial institution. Beginning year 2000.

Author writes:

“President Obama has had to fight the bad political karma left over from the Wall Street rescue.”

I have got to laugh at that sentence. Oh brother… “Karma”.

Barry could have done as he always does and blamed Bush and moved on. As barry told John McCain he’s President. Not John.

Author also says:

“President Obama has almost no chance of getting Congress to approve the vital jobs initiatives he proposed this week.”

Two points. Democrat controlled Congress passed pay as you go. How will they pay for this ? Second, we had shovel ready stimulus plan. Been there and done that. Too bad they bought Congressional votes and all that PORK they didn’t build the bridges and roads. We do have some nice frog ponds and basketball courts.

Author says:

“My guess is that there wouldn’t be a Tea Party if there hadn’t been a bank bailout.”

Ah, think again. Attend a tea party meeting and get a education. Be sure to clean up your trash there afterwards. They leave the place clean when they leave.

Obama didn't become president until winter 2009

Oh, those 75 seats that Obama couldn't fill at his speech; they belonged to the dead voters that voted for him in 2008.
