Mosque, Arizona Immigration Controversies Reflect Tough Economy

Bad manners and misplaced anger are just that. In this country, everyone is supposed to be able to live, work and worship as they please, wherever they please.

Minorities did not cause any economic hardship some are experiencing. On the contrary - the people in charge did - overwhelmingly white. They are a clear majority of the lawyers, politicians, leaders of big corporations, Wall Street, lobbyists.

Lots of people have worked hard for years and not been overly rewarded. The big complainers now are trying to imply that it is someone else's fault they have problems. In some cases yes, but, as usual, the ones who suffer most are at the bottom. And who is the majority in the bottom group? Minorities.

So I really take offense when a white person (like me) complains about how they have been treated wrong. We have it easy - all the advantages. How we elect to use those advantages is our choice.

Times are tough, but blaming it on a religion or an ethnic group is wrong. None of us are entitled to anything. Nor are we entitled to prohibit others from pursuing legitimate dreams as we do.

Bad economy should not = bad temper or bad upbringing or bad reaction or bad manners. Anyone who tries to blame others for their misfortune is lame.
