Steve a lot of things COULD HAPPEN, MIGHT, POSSIBLE, etc. You might wake up tomorrow a tea party card carrier.

I never thought “Global Warming isn't Disproven by cold winters or snow.”. DC did go though a horrible winter though. See is does vary. Maybe next year less so. There were trees once near water that burst from very cold.

I know there are reports leaked that discredit AL’s movement.

I know there were temperatures taken in misleading ways:

“Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing”

Ah, NO:

Unlike Al Gore’s assertion that Global Warming is a proven fact it is not. Strange with his beliefs, as well as others who believe, he bought expensive home next to sea shore instead of safer area.

Well said Hunter & R.L. Schaefer...

Here are some of the dangers of global warming:

Sea level could rise between 7 and 23 inches (18 to 59 centimeters) by century's end, the IPCC's February 2007 report projects. Rises of just 4 inches (10 centimeters) could flood many South Seas islands and swamp large parts of Southeast Asia.

• Some hundred million people live within 3 feet (1 meter) of mean sea level, and much of the world's population is concentrated in vulnerable coastal cities. In the U.S., Louisiana and Florida are especially at risk.

• Glaciers around the world could melt, causing sea levels to rise while creating water shortages in regions dependent on runoff for fresh water.

• Strong hurricanes, droughts, heat waves, wildfires, and other natural disasters may become commonplace in many parts of the world. The growth of deserts may also cause food shortages in many places.

• More than a million species face extinction from disappearing habitat, changing ecosystems, and acidifying oceans.

• The ocean's circulation system, known as the ocean conveyor belt, could be permanently altered, causing a mini-ice age in Western Europe and other rapid changes.

• At some point in the future, warming could become uncontrollable by creating a so-called positive feedback effect. Rising temperatures could release additional greenhouse gases by unlocking methane in permafrost and undersea deposits, freeing carbon trapped in sea ice, and causing increased evaporation of water.

From the same report, here are signs global warming is occurring:

Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

• The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. And the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 11 of the past 12 years are among the dozen warmest since 1850.

• The Arctic is feeling the effects the most. Average temperatures in Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia have risen at twice the global average, according to the multinational Arctic Climate Impact Assessment report compiled between 2000 and 2004.

• Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing, and the region may have its first completely ice-free summer by 2040 or earlier. Polar bears and indigenous cultures are already suffering from the sea-ice loss.

• Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidly melting—for example, Montana's Glacier National Park now has only 27 glaciers, versus 150 in 1910. In the Northern Hemisphere, thaws also come a week earlier in spring and freezes begin a week later.

The US is the primary source of carbon emissions. This is why there is so much denial.

You mean the earth isn't flat . Where have I been ? May-be our 20-30 below zero winters have gotten to me . We all get together in town in mid Jan. and pray for global warming , burn a tree or two , leave a carbon footprint and hope for the best .

Wonder if Al Gores new beachfront house came with pontoons for when the oceans rise ?

Funny how the enviro wackos need to be like the Tea Party people ( wonder how civil their get togethers will be ) , another article called for liberals to take back conservative , getting desperate they are . What's next , they'll want to put the racist label back where it belongs ( with them ) ?

Hunter of WI 2:15PM August 01, 2010

You are so right in your assessment.

When a person understands science job is to question it is absurd for Al Gore to say global warming is proven and will not discuss otherwise. Naturally his blame is by man’s hands.

People of earth once knew our planet was flat.

Global Warming

Now here’s a cause that should worry everyone, well maybe everyone except those of us who know that there have been at several periods of glaciation during the past million few years and that each was followed by thousands of years of “global warming”. This might be a good time to point out to the meteorologically myopic that there were no CO2 producing factories, hydroflourocarbons or SUV’s during the Pleistocene Epoch.

Furthermore, What's so bad about a little global warming? When you think about it you quickly come to realize that more "stuff" lives and grows in the "green house" of a tropical rain forest than on the permafrost of frozen tundra

Instead of running scared from the witch hunting left - Detroit should run T.V. ads showing an attractive couple, in lounge chairs, digging their toes into the white sand of a tropical beach. A SUV parked behind and in the distance a cloudy horizon and a looming iceberg. The couple would look at each other wistfully and say, “Well at least we’ve done our part to delay the next ice Age.”

That brings me to the my last point. The Green Socialists should tune down the gloom and doom hysteria and acquire a little perspective regarding the “Big Picture”. But, of course, that wouldn't serve their larger agenda.

R.L. Schaefer of CA 4:26PM July 31, 2010

Globalization is an open phenomenon; it is the root of the fiscal and financial crises we are now enduring. We are all paying the long term costs of corporate profit maximization. My comrade, Rick Wolff explains it this way;

"In today's class-divided societies, classes differ over what governments should do and who should pay the taxes. Governments in such societies often turn to borrowing -- which produces national debts -- as ways to defer and postpone the political problems of resolving class struggles focused on the state. By borrowing, governments can immediately accommodate -- at least partly -- the different class demands for government spending while postponing the raising of taxes into the future...Problems arise when lenders to such governments demand much higher interest payments or refuse to lend more. Then rising national debts can no longer postpone resolution of the underlying class struggles...Employers and employees struggle everywhere over what activities the government should and should not perform...At the same time, employees and employers struggle over who is to pay the costs of government expenditures. Employers seek to burden employees by shifting income taxes onto middle and lower income earners, by imposing sales and property taxes that fall disproportionally on those earners, and so on. Employees seek to push tax burdens in the opposite direction (more progressive income taxes, capital-gains and dividends taxes, etc.)...he two sides' relative strengths -- their organizations and resources -- usually determine the patterns of government expenditures and what portion of the tax bill each side pays...Lenders are, of course, complicit in building up national debts because they collect most of the interest payments from the borrowing governments. From the employers' perspective, the national debt often looks like an attractive lesser evil...instead of taxing us, they say in unison, how about we lend you the money...Major lenders to governments around the world are banks; hence they are major gainers from national debts. The current explosion in national debts is thus a bonanza for the world's banks...Lenders to governments understand that class struggles postponed may thereby be sharpened...The moral of the story of class struggles and national debts is this: government borrowing is capitalism's very employer-partisan way out from a political dead end. It rewards lenders nicely, but it only works for a while. Employers who avoid taxes and instead lend to governments eventually encounter the risk of default by over-indebted and politically stalemated governments. Then employers refocus their own and governments' efforts back on the old, underlying class struggles by concerted attacks to reduce government spending on employees while taxing them more."

http://rethinkingmarxism.org/cms/node/1370

The state's fiscal crisis is merely a crisis of late capitalism. Chronic stagnation and class conflict are at its core.

I was a loyal member of the Republican party, but after awhile I realized their was no difference between the Republican and Democratic parties, that the two parties are controlled and owned by the one party.

The globalist corporate party.

I started to understand that almost everything the corporate media says is a lie to keep us stupid and ignorant.

But with the help of Fox News, I then began to embrace the new world order view of stupidity and ignorance as a way of life.

Now after watching Fox News for less then a week, I have become a stupid idiot, and am now able to join the Fox Propaganda Created Tea Party! I have to say its not easy being a member of the "Fox News Tea Party". Most of us spend long hours watching Sarah Palin videos, we live in our senior parents homes, up in the attic, living off dehydrated pizzas ordered over the internet. Its not a easy life. But we are proud ex Republicans, now the proud Fox News Tea Baggers, there are not many of us, but we are the tea baggers!!! Why are we called the tea baggers?

Because Fox News reported and thought you should decide!

Environmental damage to the Gulf was hyped by the enviros. Relatively little harm was caused to the area because wave and bacterial action of the warm water accelerated the natural breakdown of the oil. Dispersants aided the process.

"The Greatest Eco-Disaster In History" is ending with a whimper - Very much to the chagrin of the Hard Greens. Their "Global Warming Big Stick" was worn thin and they were certainly in the market for a new one.

"Going Green Has Gone Too Far" - Get your bumper sticker today
