Imagining the Democrats' 2010 Election Strategy Meetings

Most People wanted a public option. They didn't like the actual health care bill that passed because it not only lacked a public option but had a mandatory insurance purchase provision which the Democrats didn't originally intend to pass. The GOP deliberately sabotaged the health care reform in order to create public opposition to it. Had the public genuinely not supported it at first, the GOP would never had seen the need to sabotage the original house bill by removing the public option, medicare buy in and cost controls. This the GOP did at the expense of the well being of the American people with no respect for the 20,000 people a year who die for lack of health care. The GOP puts its own political interests ahead of those of the American People!!

The stimulus was also popular and has worked. Without the financial bailouts and fiscal stimulus, there would be a depression right now. I find it incredible that someone like Bill Hedges who can't write a comprehensible sentence in English questions the efficacy of the ideas and the contribution of a thinker like John Myanard Keynes who was probably the world's greatest and most influential economist ever. Bill and his ilk have a very long way to go.

I am reminded of a saying; "If you think the cost of education is high, you should see the cost of ignorance." I think of this wisdom every day that I read the comments on this blog!!

Rail system sounds good. Fixing bridges in bad shape does to. We had stimulus money and did little to fix bridges in bad shape. We instead spend some on Green with 80 % creating jobs overseas. Stimulus saved or created jobs (you can assign any number you wish as barry has). Mostly helped States instead of forcing States to make prudent decisions as I do with my money.

Afraid Pat we don’t have the money now to build a rail system. Naturally that wouldn’t stop it from possible happening though.

Democrats ignored reading the bills and blindly signed the bills. Barry smiles as he signs into law. Little of those promises keep. Little posting legislation before signing. No listening to people as polls show, people and Republicans say HEAVEN NO. Instead of forcing California to make the hard financial decisions Democrats want to bail them out. My State doesn’t need the bail out. We’re more conservative.

What a surprise !!!

With all the problems with GM barry puts a band aid on the outer cuts. A barry planned bankruptcy. Not a honest to goodness bankruptcy. He takes secured loans and vanquish them. Giving the stock to the union. Never heard of such a thing.

I want a tsunami come November. Democrats please use Steve’s talking points. Please.

I have always enjoyed Rangel. Even more today. He says let us get this trial going now. Not after THE VOTE. Personally I’m afraid he is guilty. But he has STYLE…

You know, a way to unite our nation could be the installation of a high speed rail system.

I do believe investors would be willing to fund such an endeavor.

A project such as this would take years to construct thereby putting people back to work.

If one factors in the total time spent in an airport, high speed rail would certainly be competitive.

Let’s do it,

“…. not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard”.

... with their past ill performances.

"Out they go" as far as I'm concerned!
