I agree with Michael Barone!!!

Republican Ted Stevens, shouldn't have asked lobbyist William Allen to superintend the reconstruction of his house in Girdwood.

He should have hired a contractor.

The only thing you will get from a Republican Corporate lobbyist is

shady workmanship in place of a bribe.

Republican Ted Stevens may have not introduced the the framed Bridge to Nowhere,

introduced by Republican Congressman Don Young.

but Republican Ted Stevens certainly voted in favor it.

"Stevens tended to the problems of Alaska natives"

In the 1980's Republican president Ronald Reagan

felt it was important to get welfare moms out of Cadillacs and into jobs.

I have to admit I think the welfare Cadillac mom was a Republican

urban legend designed to get the voters all riled up.

I was glad when they did away with the Republican sponsored tax deductions

for owning Cadillac Escalates and Humvee's.

Today we are dealing with Republican Corporate welfare on a grand scale.

Americans are asking, how can we get those Rich Republicans off the public dole.

Americans are responding by Jailing the Bernie Madoffs, and putting a cap on CEO's wages

who have run their company's into the ground.

Americans, Europeans, Asians, and Russian's are now suggesting Nationalism,

and trade tariffs as a cure for the Republican sponcered Free Trade

race to the bottom.

Americans hate the fact that less then 1% control over

90% of the wealth.

I don’t know if Sen. Stevens is guilty of crimes or not, but it is incumbent on prosecutors to prove their case, and do so without cheating. There are rules which are supposed to protect us all against over-zealous prosecution, and too many prosecutors disregard those rules to get unwarranted convictions.

This leads to two tragedies, the person improperly convicted, and the fact that nobody ever brings charges against the prosecutors who broke the law. This is an issue I have studied carefully. And I did more.

I wrote a novel, called A GOOD CONVICTION, which tells the story of a young man convicted of a murder he did not commit by a prosecutor who knew he didn’t do it. You can read more about my book, and order it, at ...

Why is the author so THANKFUL that a democrat replaced Sen. Stevens? I understand it is an opinion article, but his thankfullness has nothing to do with the abuse by Justice. Oh well, I would be thankful if they would prosecute Ted Kennedy for some of his crimes, disgrace him, and then replace him with a conservative.

He still did not claim the gifts on his tax returns

by a Bush Justice Department, that's both odd and regrettable for the sake of Senator Stevens. But at age 85, it was probably time for the seat to change hands and THANKFULLY we got a Democrat there this time. Meanwhile, go ahead and name whatever you want after him.

Be respectful too of Holder (a Democrat) dropping this prosecution.
