I missed Michael Gerson's column last week roasting the Obama administration for summarily dismissing Global AIDS Coordinator Mark Dybul on January 21 after he had been asked to stay on. Dybul is the architect of the hugely successful PEPFAR program that has saved something like 2 million lives in Africa—which Gerson calls the most successful foreign aid program since the Marshall Plan. The Obama people had no obligation to ask him to stay on, and if they hadn't, he undoubtedly would have left gracefully. Instead someone in the administration acted like a thug. I wonder who.
