Just Call Her Sarah "Delano" Palin

Funny how a second-string center-right scribbler has been reduced to uttering gibberish like this.

"Delano"? "DELANO"? This useless smalltown mayor has more in common with Martha Raye than Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Barone has gone gaga over Palin because she delivered a speech --which she had undoubtedly rehearsed a couple of dozen times-- in spite of a teleprompter malfunction.

I suppose Abraham Lincoln had a defect-free teleprompter going on when he delivered his Gettysburg Address, and so did John Kennedy when he delivered his "ask not" inaugural address, and so did...

I am amazed to read or hear foolish "punditry" of "pundits" like Barone.

sarah palin a pro? this makes it pretty clear you do not know what a pro is. i mean seriously, are we talking about the same universe here? good god. I dont think palin is a 'pro' at anything in her life, not even raising her kids.

As always, Barone is right on target. A prophet in his own time, with deep insights, both historical and contemporary. I would love for William Bennett to write about me with such admiration.

When is the last time Barone has been right about anything?

I used to work in a DC bookstore frequented by Barone. When he would come in, he would only confirm the impression left by his political essays: this is a man who lives in a bubble. A very white, very (effeminate) male, very rich bubble. And from that bubble he has the temerity to pretend he can offer some insight into the American political psyche.

Well, his record speaks for itself: "Sarah 'Delano' Palin," indeed.

What a tool.

Whatever became of writing and speaking your own speech?

Isn't that what education is for?

Every candidate for anything forever has promised to "fix" education---and everything else!

Are the speech writers the only ones that got educated?

Can't we find someone to run for office that has an education?

I said it and I approve of this comment (I think!)

I didn't know this, did you?

Don't dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard-- consider this.

Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system.

The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks.

It's on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's.

She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense.

Given Alaska's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about.

According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

Field dressing a moose is definitely a qualification on my list for VP.

Thank God for Palin because I was in a cold sweat, clueless about who to vote for until she showed up with her moose skiils. God Bless America.

P.S. I have a bridge to nowhere for sale.
