Mexico prepares to vote

A couple of good articles on the Mexican election. A report on the June 6 presidential candidates' debate from the Associated Press. And a Wall Street Journal front-page story on the battle for Wal-Mart voters. The upshot is that this is still a close race between PAN candidate Felipe Calderón and PRD candidate Andres Manuel López Obrador. But López Obrador seems to have made a couple of mistakes—avoiding the first debate, campaigning in rural areas but not in the burgeoning suburbs of Mexico's major cities. We'll be watching this closely.
