Good thing you can ignore facts & figures and can control desire to supple same.

Best way to stay liberal. Just shoot the shi*...

About that bing of AL

buma was against surge as Senator and surged as President. Surge worked.

You write “Please somebody, tell me what he accomplished and what improved under his leadership? We judge presidents on what they have achieved”

First off, Bush tried to stop the recession. Democrats CLOSED THEIR EARS:

“Pelosi Caught In Major Lie- Says Bush Didn't Warn Congress About Financial Crisis… Records Show He Warned Congress 17 Times in 2008 Alone”

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2010/05/pelosi-caught-in-major-lie-says-bush-didnt-warn-congress-about-financial-crisis-records-show-he-warned-congress-17-in-2008-alone/

Second, Bush tax cuts WORKED:

"In every case over the last 60 years, major tax cuts have more than paid for themselves. In fact, every major tax cut since JFK has been followed by substantial increases in revenue, not to mention solid economic growth. Moreover, total federal revenue rose at a faster rate after each of those tax cuts than it did before them. Anyone can confirm these basic facts for themselves by checking federal budget data and economic indicators before and after major tax cuts (see, for example, Federal Budget Data, Data 360 Unemployment U.S., and Total Economy Database). Let’s take a closer look at the results of the last four major tax cuts (and then for good measure we’ll examine the Mellon tax cuts of the 1920s)."

"Bush Tax Cuts: President George W. Bush’s 2003 tax cuts generated a massive increase in federal tax revenue and were followed by 52 consecutive months of economic growth. From 2004 to 2007, federal tax revenue increased by $780 billion, the largest four-year increase in American history. Total federal revenue from 2003 to 2007":

"2003 -- $1.78 trillion

2004 -- $1.88 trillion

2005 -- $2.15 trillion

2006 -- $2.40 trillion

2007 -- $2.56 trillion"

"Total federal revenue for 2008 dropped slightly, down to $2.52 trillion, because a recession started that year, but revenue was still substantially higher than it was in 2003 or 2004. During the same period, income tax revenue rose dramatically, going from $925 billion in 2003 to $1.53 trillion in 2007. As with other types of federal revenue, income tax revenue dropped slightly in 2008, down to $1.45 trillion, due to the fact that a recession began that year."

"It’s important to keep in mind that the recession had nothing to do with the tax cuts. The recession was brought on by destructive federal intervention in the subprime mortgage market, irresponsible funding and securitization of subprime loans by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, unsound Federal Reserve monetary policy, a lack of oversight by the Securities and Exchange Commission, greed and fraud committed by certain large banks and investment firms, and consumers who bought homes they really couldn’t afford."

Obama was handed a war that was already won? Uh.....right, that's why Bush was executing a withdrawal. A war isn't "won" until the troops come home. Obama was handed a mess on everything.

No Pub running for office brings up Bush43, there's a reason for that. It's because he was a disaster. Please somebody, tell me what he accomplished and what improved under his leadership? We judge presidents on what they have achieved. Bush 43 didn't achieve anything, he just made everything worse. Every Pub that voted for him should apologize.

I would have to say Roosevelt was by far the worst Presidential family. The main budgetary problems that we are facing are due to social programs, not the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan like this author tries to make you believe. Many of these programs were started by FDR. Theodore Roosevelt was possibly a bigger bully of a President, if possible, than Barack Obama, considering is regulations put into in place against businesses. Bush is thought by some as the worst president because he was never given a chance to be "our" president. The reason, he supposedly "stole" the 2000 election. Second, he "lied", about the Iraq war, even though intelligence from our country as well as other European countries thought that Saddam had nuclear weapons and would eventually use them, since he used chemical warfare on his own people. Third, he was openly a devout Christian, which also bothered liberals. The problem is that most Americans are easily influenced by speeches and rhetoric, rather than facts. Americans will continue to be sold "lemonade" rhetoric by Democrats until they realize that they cannot rely on the government to provide them their sugar and happiness.

”When [Obama] became president in January 2009, he was handed a war that was won. The surge had succeeded. Al-Qaeda in Iraq had been routed, driven to humiliating defeat by Sunnis fighting side-by-side with the infidel Americans.

- Even more remarkably, the Shiite militias had been taken down, with American backing, by the forces of Shiite prime minister Nouri al-Maliki. They crushed the Sadr militias from Basra to Sadr City …

- Obama was left with but a single task: Negotiate a new status-of-forces agreement (SOFA) to reinforce these gains and create a strategic partnership with the Arab world’s only democracy.

- He blew it.

I hate to agree with you but George W. Bush may be the worst president in history. Iraq war, spending us into Recession, his VP, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, his constant clearing of "brush" on his ranch, his arrogance, and his lack of knowledge. Other than that by some miracle we are all still here.

A little poorer but upon and around looking for another "just" war. If there is such a thing. Why kill just Americans soldiers when you can kill so many muslims?

If we truly had the worst President in history, I hope things can only get better. If Jeb Bush had two brain cells working he would quit politics forever.

I am not too impressed with any article that throws nothing but bile about a political figure with zero backup information....so I suppose I won't be looking at any more of Jamie's op-ed's.....

This is the biggest bunch of garbage ever written and published in a magazine the caliber of US News. Overblown lies from front to finish. This is the reason I do not take any of these magazines. This is why I do not watch anything on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, or MSNBC. I have totally had it with the lies and distortions. This is the reflection of a rabid Liberal. From the point of view of a conservative Carter's Presidency and Obama's were much much worse than Bush. Bush only had a few thousand soldiers in Afghanistan and it was this brilliant Obama who pumped it up to its current number of 170 thousand. Obama budget spending is more than Clinton, Bush Sn. and Bush Jr. all together. Obama is the worst President we have had in 100 years. So your vomiting these lies on us aren't going anywhere.

Stephen A. Howell of AR 5:21PM April 09, 2012

After eight years of gross incompetence,on numerous fronts,by young george at the helm. The one thing that the country can be thankful of, is that,by law,the president can serve no more than two terms.

In 2012 the republican clown car rolls on. this time the occupants hoping to ascend to the oval office include a narcissistic former speaker, well past his expiration date,a dark ages religious zealot who,the last time he ran for office was trounced by 18 points, and a billionaire who can not relate to the plight of the average citizen.
