"Chicago Weekend Shootings: 10 Dead, At Least 40 Wounded"

"As of Tuesday, 41 people have been slain in Baltimore this year."

"(most of all in the South)" - More "healthy black youths" have been killed in Chicago alone in the days following Martin's killing than have died across the whole of the South.

what if I literally made up a ridiculous statement, called it a metaphor then wrote an article about it. Oh wait, that what I just did.

You lie-beral asssssholes are the real problem. Zimmerman is a Real American Hero! If he eradicated a towel-head over in Iraq he would be celebrated.

The Trayvon situation is a tragedy. Full stop.

Comparing it to Dick Cheney's transplant is a complete non-sequitor. It makes a mockery of the efforts taken by organ banks to make the process as fair as possible:

I'd go as far as to say you ought to be ashamed, but I'll stop short of that. You should be semi-ashamed.

Bottom line: if you choose to get it on with a dude,

realize 44mag trumps fists of fury.

Mr. Zimmerman deserves a fair trial and i don't like to see judgments being made when all the facts are not in. These protests should be against the police department, not against Mr. Zimmerman. Unfortunately, Mr. Martin also deserved a police investigation in to his death that was not conducted. All the forensic evidence is now gone because the police did not do their job. It is likely now we will never know the truth. Based on what I have seen and heard so far, Mr. Zimmerman, fairly or not, would be acquited since all the evidence was ignored and then destroyed. It's going to be Rodney King all over again. Racism probably was a factor in this case, but it was police incompetence that exacerbated it. Expect riots if this goes to trial and he is found innocent.

In the future, neighborhood watch groups should not carry guns. Their job is to observe and report. That's it.

Interesting writing... maybe a bit premature and reactionary.. maybe. But, I appreciated the use of Dick Cheney as a juxtaposition.

It is most definitely a tragedy that this young man lost his life.

BUT...

We do not yet know the WHOLE story of the encounter, and as such, blame cannot be apportioned properly.

The second sad part of this tragedy is how quick so many jumped on the "this was racist" bandwagon - I wonder if there would have been ANY outcry if the race roles were reversed?

Jamie, if anyone here has proven themselves to be all to willing to play the race card with no proof, it is you.

Pathetic, really.

I'm sorry, when did everybody get access to all the police reports, witness statements and depositions?

Until that occurs, nobody knows what really happened - and quite frankly based on the leaked witness testimony, it doesn't seem like the witnesses are sure what happened either. Did nobody learn a damn thing from the Crystal Mangum/Duke Lacrosse team? Quit jumping to conclusions and let the police/feds do their jobs.
