Michele Bachmann Rises as Sarah Palin Falls

While i don't think that either of these women are fit to run for President, I am always amazed by the fascination and vitriol shown by the Left towards them, and especially Palin.

One has to wonder just WHY someone like Jamie seeks out every opportunity to slam Palins for every imagined (in her mind only) faux pas.

Jeez, Jamie. Grow up.

Thanks to Mr. Man from Maryland! A well-taken point, and I did consider whether to include the general and president, Andrew Jackson, as I am fascinated with his colorful life story. The man he killed in a duel, however, was not a political figure (as described by Sarah Palin in her statement); the conflict did not involve politics; and the fateful July1804 duel resulted in the death of one American "notable" - a Federalist Founding Father - by another, the vice president of the United States.

The "caning" attack on a Massachusetts senator by a South Carolina congressman in the Capitol in the 1850s comes closest to the political (and personal) violence of the Burr/Hamilton episode, in my opinion.

I appreciate your taking the time to write. Regards to you and all who shared your thoughts.

I dislike sloppy history from all sources--Palin, Bachmann...and the author of this article. Andrew Jackson, our 7th President, fought numerous duels--13, according to a quick check of Wikipedia. He shot and killed Charles Dickinson in 1806, after Jackson had served in both the U.S. House and Senate. Don't know that any of Jackson's fights would meet the author's standard of "notable duels," but Jackson was certainly a notable duelist. Even though Palin may only know him as "that dude on the $20."

Whenever other women get upset and teardown Palin or Bachmann it just looks like petty jealousy, you know... like a catfight. Both of these women have achieved a certain level of success appart from the successes of their husbands.... Such criticism ends up hurting the advancement of all women everywhere. It certainly doesn't engender respect for those who involve themselves in this kind of catfighting.

Stereotypes can be applied to Palin and Bachmann attributing their success to their good looks and suggesting that men are only relying on their lowest nature when they support them. This is stereotypical, subversive to men, and again makes the women in opposition seem like they haven't graduated junior high yet.

But there is hardly an exception that national political leaders are more attractive... there certainly are exceptions...

The writer of this article is a typical lib who understands nothing about conservatism and it shows! She mentions the women of Maine being republicans but I guarantee that there is not one tea party advocate that likes either of those RINO's. We wish they BOTH would drop out of the Republican party.

And this is not about Palin vs. Backman. Both are staunch conservatives. Palin didn't slip one IOTA from the Arizona shooting. She said exactly what she should have and not backed down from all the idiotic "disarm em' all" liberals! Anyone knows anything about life knows that there will always be rabid animals who are among us. The only reason he shot as many as he did was that there were not enough gun carriers to stop him before he got more than 1 or two shots off. We do not need less guns, we need MORE! Wolves will always find sheep to prey one.. but one wolf can't attack other wolves for long. Make laws that create self defending wolves.. not sheep.

I am all for the govt. to provide guns and gun safes to those that can't afford it, mandate a training course for safety and proficiency. Arm everyone and then NO ONE will feel free to take advantage of people without guns.

My dream ticket for presidential candidates are Palin and Bachman and I do not care which is running for president and which is vice president. They are BOTH fantastic ladies of conservative values.

Both Gov. Sarah Palin & Rep Michele Bachmann are slim, svelte, stylish auburn-haired beauties who engender a sudden swelling of patriotic pride & a stiffening of Republican resolve whenever they speak or appear in public. They are exciting & effective political power players.
