Obama worked hard passing obamacare and helping the poor. Now he survived an election by preserving the dem controlled senate. Republicans are in a perfect position to blame in 2012 for his re election. Great job Obama. Enjoy your trip! You deserve it! $200 million is not a big deal when the fed just printed $600 billion. HA HA HA.. go fed go! "I can see the pile of printed money from my porch!" HA HA HA The republicans can't stop the fed or obamacare with just the house!!! ha ha ha

EVEN IN THE WORST ECONOMIC CRISIS SINCE THE DEPRESSION, the people voted for the democrats in the senate to such a degree that the democrats control the senate. Even in these tough times, the democrats have held onto the senate. That's amazing...

Listen to Glenn Beck carefully tonight, you can tell that his voice is subdued... he knows the tea party deflated..

Even in these horrific times of high unemployment and TRILLION dollar debts, the PEOPLE kept the senate in control of the democrats!!! HA HA HA HA!.. OBAMA wins! He's in the white house getting ready for a victory trip to India. Well deserved Obama, well deserved!!!!

Obamacare is here to stay folks.... That's a HUGE accomplishment for Obama! HUGE!!!

You completely misunderstand the tea party. Since the collectivist mindset can't comprehend a movement without a clear leader, you just pick a Republican party insider (because you also can't comprehend anything outside of the one-dimensional two party paradigm) who has attempted to co-opt the tea party movement and call him its leader. And also, you can't comprehend why anyone would be dissatisfied with the way things are going, so you just call them old white men who want to get rid of a black president. (I like the racism insinuation there.)

You also completely misunderstand the role of the political comedian, as another poster pointed out.

Honestly, I don't care how stupid you liberals are. The more you misunderstand the people who disagree with you, the more your influence will crumble.

I know you're an East Coast type liberal, but hey California is a gay, Rad-Fem, Green Socialist paradise where 60% of the people don't have a speck of common sense (as proven by election results). You'd fit right in and the weather is better.

Seriously?

You're missing the boat entirely on this one. The rally wasn't about what political party you affiliated with. Somehow, I'm a Ron Paul libertarian and still get it.

While I may cringe when the crowd of Stewarts applaudes Obama and his policies so openly, I understand that the comedic value Stewart stands for is pointing out the contradictions in the mainstream media/political machine. It's polarizing.

Homophobia, a defunct foreign policy, the bail outs, religious exremism on both sides, an economy built on debt...you don't have to be on the left or right to see the comedy behind all of this.

Show me a hero and I'll show you a villan. Russ had to go. So does Pelosi/Reid/Rangle/Boxer/Shummer/Frank. Apparently some dust bunnies missed the sweep of the broom.

How cathartic the change for Dems from euphoria to despair?! How long did it take . . . less than 2 years.

You illustrate your ignorance . . . "The Tea Party tempest--largely made up of angry older well-off white people." Then you sinisterly infer that the Tea Party movement was what? A KKK rally? Really? They actually pay you to write?!

You and your liberal ilk have lampooned conservatives as loons calling them "birthers", "tea baggers", "conspiracy theorists",

"revolutionaries", etc.

It looks like the shoe fits nicely on your foot.

Excuse me while this angry, old, well-off, middle age, white man puts away his white sheet, pointy hat halloween costume and brews another cup of tea.

The Republicans may have won quite a few House seats, but I didn't see the Tea Party really winning. Their loudest voices LOST.

Maybe take a look at the election results before writing.

By the way, the Rally for Sanity was ENTERTAINMENT. The political bs was getting so thick, rational people needed to take a breather from it and just laugh, sing, and make fun of the bs. It's how rational people handle stress. What is the bug up everyone's butt about the rally? Why is this such a difficult concept to understand?!

I love the United States, while our economy and standerd of living in Canada know truCanadians mps yours, I haved lived there and love your nation. From here these are my observations:

Borrowing so much money that our "socialist" nation and people are saying "what in the world are they doing down there" is more than troublesome.

Canada adopted a universal health care system long ago when it was still possible. Our system is good but far from perfect. Yours is expensive and not universal and also far from perfect. We know that to change your system is impossible at this time and to legislate that people purchase insurance is so unamerican that it would not or even could not be swallowed even here.

Most Canadians love the United States. We who do, beg you, wake up and drop all the zenophobic fear garbage and save your money and economy by paying down your debt, supporting your military, and, at least, seek to be as free as your nothern neighbours by reducing beurocradic power and allowing your citizens to make America great again.
