Could somebody help me what does the term Uncle Tom mean?

I note that your recipe for Obama's speech left out an important ingredient - truth. And perhaps with good reason, "truth" seems an element sadly lacking in the "Huckster in Chief's" bag of tricks.

This post highlights a problem we have had for the past year, campaigning is one thing, leading is another. In campaign manager form, Jamie states that he needs to repackage his message. We don't need better marketing, we need a better product. Obama needs to realize that spending on liberal causes and growing the size of government and number of regulators isn't working. But that isn't going to happen; he's a one strategy leader and for all his talk of change, it doesn't look like he's capable of it himself.

I have mixed feelings about this; while I understand that we are in the worst state we've ever been in, I personally haven't been totally affected by the economy. However, I see the issues through others I deal with, and it's inexcusable. I think Obama realizes the serious issues that we face and is trying his best, though somewhat unexperienced. I think the Dems in office are pushing their own agenda and seem to be fighting against him and the Repubs. I'm from MA, and Scott Brown's election was a wake-up call to Washington, and I hope Obama heard it. He needs to pull Pelosi aside and have a stern talk about bipartisanship. The Senate and House, Dems & Reps all need to work together to please the American people- regardless of which party was voted into the Oval Office. We need balance, as this and the previous term have proved that one-sided politics tips the scales for disaster!

The State of the Union speech will be nothing but a joke. All Obama did was lie to us--who wants to hear more of his swill?? Don't waste your time. Look who he has appointed to his Cabinet--with a couple of exceptions they look like a group photo for the Sunday Funnies. The 54% of us who pay Federal Income Tax should have an entitlement of our own--we are entitled to better representation than we have.

There are too many people slopping at the public trough--it is time that they realize that 100% pensions and more, unending government handouts, and taxing the Hell out of us in a terrible recession must come to an end.As for health care, can you only start to imagine the mess the Federal Government would make out of it? (If you can't, just look at the Post Office')

As far as politics goes, the solution is simple--when the elections come, whoever is in office, vote them out. It doesn't matter what party that they are from. If we do this three or four times, it will serve the same purpose as term limitation--eventually we will hear a giant flushing sound, and all of these idiots will be GONE!!

Both comments exactly on the mark. This is surely NOT the change we signed on for! I was worried about Obamelosi back in the campaign.

Speaking of ... do a search on Madam Pelosi's new JET!!

I'm afraid, very afraid, that we have already seen into his soul. The question is just who is next and if they can do better.

I'm just sick on how the Democrats handled health care and sold us out to the Big Insurance companies. This is NOT change I can believe in. They scraped the one idea that has always polled high and now are in denial on why they are in trouble, fools.
