Should Mitt Romney Denounce Ted Nugent?

why should he? Maher donated 1 million to Obama's super PAC and he was vile in comment towards Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman. Democrats defended it as they are strong women and he's only a comedian (as opposed to Rush). Well, President Obama is a strong man and Nugent is just a rock star.

I believe it was Roselynn Carter who said Reagan made us comfortable with our prejudices. Now we have idiots running around who think we should be proud of them.

The nature of a racist is love no one but themselves.

If you are looking for an answer to your question, look no further than that. My sincere hope is that there are more non racist in this county than racist, as they are very vocal.

There is nothing wrong with being an extremist as long as one does not break the law or encourage others to do so. Ted Nugent clearly did at least the latter. No one in their right mind can deny that after the Los Angeles riots Whites finally heard Blacks who had been ineffectlively complaining about the L.A.P.D. for years and finally made changes as a result. In some cases, riots are indeed the language of the unheard. That does not make it right to riot though. The ends does not justify the means when innocents are hurt and killed, no matter how effective the means are. One does not have to be a minority to see that but it sure does help.

Mercedes, bashing the president over old news will not make Romney look any better. Come on now. You and I both know Romney would be giving Nugent all kinds of hell for his remarks if he were a decent human being. I suspect he has an equal amount of hatred and lack of respect for his president as Nugent does and in my eyes that makes him unsuitable to become our next president. I shudder to think what our country would be like under a man who cannot even denounce evil like the dangerous remarks Nugent just vomited up.

Since Romney and his sons eagerly accepted his endorsement a short time ago they should disavow him immediately.

I'm dumbfounded that what was once a responsible, national news magazine would even suggest that there is a question to be asked.

Ted Nugent, who Romney's campaign actively pursued as an endorser and who trumpeted that endorsement (apparently under the mistaken impression that Nugent has had some sort of cultural significance since his heyday in the 1970s), made a barely veiled threat that he would try to assassinate the incumbent President of the United States if he is re-elected.

Is there really a question here?

Let's ask you, U.S. News & Reports.

KS2 Problema of CA 12:03PM April 18, 2012

Just wonder why the network news did not devote equal time to Nugent's earlier inflammatory and dangerous statements:

"The question is not whether we will be extremist but what kind of extremist will we be."

and

"A riot is the language of the unheard."

Oops, that wasn't Nugent. That was Jeremiah Wright, the President's pastor. My bad.

Mercedes of CO 11:44AM April 18, 2012

"I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year." Good riddance Ted.

Larry Linn of CA 9:23AM April 18, 2012

It doesn't take much of a look to see that Ted is pretty right on that Obama is anti-American. But really, Ted, meet the new boss same as the old boss. They are all in the same club there in Washington, and neither major party is any good. They are all corrupt, and make laws that benefit themselves and their rich cronies. Add to that the demise of common sense (as indicated by the over-reaction to Ted's comments), and the rest of us all lose. You should have learned that by now. Where have you gone, George Carlin, now that we need you.

avlisk of AZ 8:48AM April 18, 2012

It sounded like nugent was actually directly threatening the President. He will be dead or in jail if Obama is re-elected?What are you going to do,Ted?The Secret Service and FBI both need to investigate him.To brush him off as a nut would be a mistake, the way Romney sought him out and apparently condones what he says but says he doesnt, just like everything else Romney has said.He is a dangerous man with even more dangerous supporters.Guess he got cat scratch fever.
