How the GOP Can Woo Women Voters

Reader Comments

Back to article

Surely you know that any apology at this point will be seen as exactly what you're suggesting; a transparent attempt to pander to get women to vote for a party that's done literally nothing for women, ever, no matter their religious persuasion,(How's the gettin' rid of abortion thingy workin' out for ya?).

And the thought that the horrid shambling monstrosity that is the republic party today would nominate anyone less crazy, and incompetent, than Palin is utterly ridiculous, not going to happen.

Sorry, you guys are doomed, or the nation is.

Steven Hansmann of MN 5:52AM March 24, 2012

Friend Hedges, Newt Gingrich has a much chance at getting the Pub nomination as Ron Paul. I might add, Newt's promise of $2.50 gas is pure pandering. I looked at his website and there's nothing in there that would get gas prices down quickly. I think Newt is a smart fellow, probably make a good cabinet secretary, but President, Commmander-In-Chief, no thank you.

bing of AL 7:46PM March 23, 2012

Bill Hedges of MO:

Here you are calling people "stupid" while you continually rant on about that corrupted Gingrich person!

Why don't you chew on this awhile:

"CNN Poll Shows Ron Paul Most Likely Beats Obama In November, Newt Does Not"

The message that needs to be spread is...a vote for Newt is a vote for defeat in November...a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Victory over Obama.

A CNN Poll shows Ron Paul in statistical tie with Barack Obama if they were to face each other in the Presidential election this November.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/16/cnn-poll-obama-tied-with-romney-paul-in-november-showdowns/

Newt Gingrich is 9% behind Obama and doesn't stand a chance against Obama come November. Democrats know this and want Gingrich or Romney to be the Republican candidate as they know the 99% won't go for either of them. That's why the MSNBC shows with Matthews, Schulz and Maddow always try to promote either of them over Ron Paul.

Here are the facts...

Ron Paul can beat Obama on Peace, not war. Obama said he would get us out of the wars "the first thing in office, and he failed.

Ron Paul can beat Obama on civil liberties as he is against the Patriot Act and Obama extended the Patriot Act.

Ron Paul wants to close Guantanamo and Obama said he would, but failed again.

Ron Paul will cut $1 trillion from the budget the first year in office and Obama is increasing our debt by trillions enslaving our youth for decades to come.

Most of our youth are voting for Ron Paul this time around instead of Obama because they are tired of being lied to and are concerned about their future. They also don't want to be drafted, which is probably a given should Gingrich, Romney or Santorum become President as all they want to do is bomb, bomb bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

John of NY

1. Glad you enjoyed my IN SPIRIT paraphrasing. Was intentional.

2. “Ron Paul has nearly triple the support he got in 2008, any way you cut it... and that continues to build”

He is still in last place according to Gallup. Not counting “other”. Prove “continues to build” John. Still last place. WAS HIGHER IN PAST.

3. “Say Dr. Paul is too principled to be president or too old or too patriotic, but Bill, no one will agree with you that there is even a hint of corruption or hypocrisy in his 24 years in Congress... or in his many years practicing medicine”

What a bunch of hog wash that means what as far as voting for to become President !!!

Let another bring in the racism charge. What I care MOST is RESULTS. Where is it with Paul ? Must I repeat what Newt HAS ACCOMPLISHED ? Can find NOTHING from Paul.

4. “You measure "accomplishments" in how many bad and unconstitutional things a politician got passed through Congress..”

HELL-O. You are being STUPID HERE. AS I HAVE SAID, Newt with CONTRACT WITH AMERICA balanced budget, reduced government and debt. THAT’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS. Paul__ZERO__.

5. “Those who want things fixed support Ron Paul”

Non-sense. Paul is in LAST PLACE. What has HE FIXED ??? I vote for DOER not just a TALKER...

Bill Hedges of MO 9:50PM March 18, 2012

Bill Hedges of Mo, do you consider yourself a Lloyd Bentsen with your paraphrase? Surely you'd rather be Dan Quayle in that one "Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy".

Ron Paul has nearly triple the support he got in 2008, any way you cut it... and that continues to build.

Say Dr. Paul is too principled to be president or too old or too patriotic, but Bill, no one will agree with you that there is even a hint of corruption or hypocrisy in his 24 years in Congress... or in his many years practicing medicine.

You measure "accomplishments" in how many bad and unconstitutional things a politician got passed through Congress.. and thereby you miss what matters, that our government and economy are broken Because of the usurpation of power by self styled "rulers".

Those who want things fixed support Ron Paul. Those who refuse to believe yet that anything is broken.. hesitate. Support is growing by the day.

John of NY 11:00AM March 18, 2012

John of NY _ I remember Norman Rockwell. Ron Paul is no Norman Rockwell...

I am tickled you are “laughing when you trash the one honest candidate from either party”. Only candidate Paul is beating is “other” according to Gallup. Paul’s accomplish NOTHING in D.C. and loss in two bids for White House. As far as Paul being the “one honest candidate”, that’s YOUR OPINION. Few people in polls are agreeing with you. Not doing him much good in polls true or not. You could brag about Paul’s accomplishment in Congress if he only had some...

John the “mustard seed” has not germinated in two previous runs for the White House. No sign it has this time around either. But you keep laughing. All you got.

Bill Hedges of MO 9:20PM March 17, 2012

Bill Hedges of Mo, it gets me laughing when you trash the one honest candidate from either party.

Can remember all the way back to when Rush Limbaugh first started, he sold snapple, made from "the best stuff on earth".. can still hear his voice. Limbaugh Is a little bit entertaining, but his message is mush. The specialty is overflow of colorful ways to put people down.

When you said "We did not 'trash women'. Rush is doing fine".......here's the part you got me laughing with... ah Bill, life is fun.

Politics is a bit like a horse race.. and you Love to say my contestant is not at the lead right now. Well Bill, no one wins by being in the lead at one moment or the next.. have a look over there at the finish wire and be patient ;)

Faith is like a mustard seed, and The Ron Paul Revolution is like America that we once read about.

John of NY 6:43PM March 17, 2012

At least two Rs 'refudiated' rush's 3 day rantrum, but reducing rush's influence among conservatives will require many years of reversing almost three decades of bad habits.

I don't see much point in trying to reform the GOP. That's like trying to build a car from chili cans collected from the desert, when instead you can pull parts from a few wrecks to get a worn out car running again.

(if my metaphor is not obvious enough, the Rs are a heap of undifferentiated debris, and the Ds are the worn down old mule that needs a lot of work :-) )

Buy low, sell high.

Libertarians? Greens? Nope, neither 'happened', not even within the Rs or Ds.

Maybe someday Ls or Gs will 'happen', if they're still around.

John of NY

Only person Paul is beating is person named "other" according to Gallup poll. Go to Disneyland & wish upon a star. We did not "trash women". Rush is doing fine. He is a VERY POPULAR radio announcer.

We "trash Paul" ? Guess so does the polls. Soon Paul will go back to the dark side of the Moon complaining and voting NO. Rarely coming to concensus vote thus accomplishing NOTHING. His LEGACY in D.C...
