Should Newt Gingrich Drop Out of the 2012 Race?

The Rick Santorum campaign calls for Newt Gingrich step aside so Santorum can take on Mitt Romney

Newt Gingrich may have won his home state of Georgia in Super Tuesday's Republican primaries, but the Santorum campaign is still calling for the former speaker of the House to drop out of the 2012 race. One of former Sen. Rick Santorum's top advisers, Joe Brabender, told the press Tuesday, "If he finishes third in all the Southern states except Georgia, the path is for him to move aside and let us have a one-on-one shot with Romney." Gingrich declined to meet Brabender's demands, not cracking the top-two in any other state Tuesday night. "With Gingrich exiting the race it would be a true head-to-head race and conservatives would be able to make a choice between a consistent conservative in Rick Santorum or Mitt Romney," argued Stuart Roy, an adviser to Red White and Blue Fund, a Super PAC supporting Rick Santorum. However, Gingrich insists he is in it for the long haul. In his Georgia victory speech Tuesday, he compared himself to a tortoise (an analogy he has used before), "It's all right, there are lots of bunny rabbits that run through… I just take one step at a time."

This Country needs Newt Gingrich! He is the best man to lead our Country and get us back on track. Newt has been there done that. He needs no training. He was a wonderful Speaker of the House and got accomplishment. I would much rather prefer Gingrich to Romney or Santorum. Was for Romney last go around, but he's not my choice this time. And, Santorum...No way. Paul was correct in labeling him "A fake."

The GOP establishment, Liberal Media, including Fox News, has wanted all along to pick our Candidate. Some have been influenced by their choice because of fear no one else can beat Obama. Not so! Newt Gingrich is the only one that can adequately debate Obama and make us all proud. Otherwise, I fear we're going to lose to Obama. God help us all, if this happens. Obama will completely destroy America.

Santorum has come up agaisnst Mitt, and financial Giant and nearly beat him,, if it were not for MITTS $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and Newt's running and taking votes away, Santorum will be the man to beat Obama. Santorum is a great man, he is honest, fun, worthy, serious, truthful, loving family man, successful, and loyal to American core values, we are all fed up with this liberal baby killing and men wanting to marry men, etc. America NEEDS a man like Rick Santorum that is why he is doing so well with so much less money,,,,,you cannot "buy" our White House Mitt, it needs an honest man in there now,,,,, we are headed to blue blazes in a handbasket in this country,,,,,, please vote for Santorum and please Newt do the right thing and drop out of this race,,,,,please for the sake of the American people and our children. jan Gay Marin County CA.
