Remembering James Q. Wilson

What a terrific article on a remarkable man. Those of us who knew him through APSA and using his American Government text in our classes, knew what a cogent mind he possessed. In an age of one-sided ideology, Jim was an open-minded debater who followed the facts where they led. How sad that so many articles have been written since Jim's passing that failed to discuss what he considered his "greatest contribution" That book, THE MORAL SENSE (1993) should be required reading for those who aspire to leadership in government. It was absolutely invaluable to me in my own research on the Moral authority of the presidency which, interestingly enough was a part of a book published under the auspices of the National Society of Social Sciences. Would that we had more intellectuals like him. May he rest in peace.
