Mitt Romney's Lies

Well over a year ago I predicted that the religious bigots and crazy people who long ago hijacked the "the party of Abraham Lincoln" would never nominate Mormon Mitt Romney. "David Duke will be named head of the NAACP before that ever happens" I speculated at the time. It appears that I might be forced to eat a healthy dish of crow on the occasion of Mitt's victory in the New Hampshire Primary on Tuesday night. This is not to imply that the half-witted "base" of that party are happy about what happened on Tuesday . Anything but. Let me put it to you this way: The Republicans just got the news that they're pregnant and they're trying to fall in love as rapidly as possible.

Assuming he will be the 2012 nominee, Romney has a few hurdles to overcome. Let's face some uncomfortable facts here, campers. Even his own people can't stand him. He doesn't come off as the most sincere guy - and that's being generous. In fact he's the most superficial candidate who ever sought the office. He reminds some people of the host of some lame, 1970's game show. He's not likely to inspire "the base" to show up at the polls en masse. Not only is his religion a hindrance, but there's also the fact that this former governor of "Taxachusetts" is seen by these knuckleheads as the worst kind of bleeding heart liberal. Isn't that a hoot? And you wonder why I get such a kick out of politics.

“The Forgotten 15: The 15 House-Passed Jobs Bills Stuck in the Senate"

October 26, 2011 4:28 PM

“The Facts”:

“900+ days since the Senate has passed a budget. The House passed a budget in April 2011"

"15 bills sitting in the Senate that will bring jobs to the American people”

“New Gallup Poll shows small-business owners in the United States are most likely to say complying with government regulations is the most important problem facing them today. The House-passed jobs bill sitting in the Senate address these overbearing government mandates holding back American businesses form creating new jobs.”

Says “He cannot repeal it w/o Congress and Pubs will never have the votes to repeal Obamacare or Frank-Dodd either”

Another Nov. 2, 2010 and we have more than enough votes.

Democrats done NOTHING since last election. We passed bills in House, Senate done NOTHING. There are other ways to defeat. Not funding. Appears Supreme court will rule on bumcare before election:

“New CBO Report Proves We Cannot Afford Obamacare”

Forgot the biggest lie. Willard says he will get rid of Obamacare first day in office. No, he won't. He cannot repeal it w/o Congress and Pubs will never have the votes to repeal Obamacare or Frank-Dodd either. Those ships have sailed. The only thing the Pubs can do now is push through a bill improving the existing laws and they will still need Dem support to do that.

This is not new. All politicians make promises they cannot keep, but to say you can repeal Obamacare first day in office is a big fat lie.

I might add the only reason Obamacare did pass was because of the Patient Bill of Rights part of the bill. If the Pubs had passed that when they were in charge, Obamacare would never have happened. The Pubs did nothing, the Dems did something, and now all the Pubs can do is whine.

What a garbage piece or writing. Bottom line, of course Romney's goal at Bain was to make money. That's what businesses are supposed to do. And they did start or turnaround companies that created jobs.

this republican in fighting is the best sitcom on t.v. with all this finger pointing by newt, romney and perry,it;s a circling firing squad.

for romney it;s like something from the "vacation movie"strapping the family dog to the roof of the car.

for newt it;s trying to disavow his checkered past,by pointing to other's short comings.

for rick boy it;s his delusional thinking that because he's governor of texas that makes him qualified for the oval office.

for santorum,it;s about going back to the crusades.

as for bill h.who as far as i know is not running for president.but is still trying to deny the major role that bush and the republican congress played in running the economy into the ditch. he resides in the land of denial.

Robert Schlesinger is an idiot. US News has lost all credibility when it lets this kind of garbage into it's publication.

bow tie quotes Paul Krugman. Takes a bow tie to quote him.

Adam of OR _ You have the knowledge that Bush warned of recession. How do you still blame Republicans ? Needed bank re-do along with F/F was stopped by Barney Frank and Democrats. The two bad eggs developed Dodd-Frank bill which does not even effect Barney’s boyfriend employer F/F.

Bush warned of housing bubble & bad loans. Was all Democrat vote that cast out economic solution regulations. Do tell me Republican equal blame.

Bills passed by House SITS in Senate. No bills passed by Senate sits in House to my knowledge...

In the end, I think Americans repeatedly vote their pocketbooks in selecting a president, with the intangible of the person being "presidential," which often means something like, "centrist enough not to attempt to change too much too quickly." In my lifetime, I think what we expect from political leaders has been greatly reduced by anti-government rhetoric from both parties and genuine limitations of what government programs can actually accomplish. It is not a very optimistic picture, yet there is an intangible "Amercian can-do" spirit which has made a difference in the past and I suspect will do so again.
