Mitt Romney's Lies

The Commander in Chief needs to be trustworthy, steadfast, and have a difinitive plan for the overall benefit of our nation. How can someone with so many hidden agendas that keep seeping out of the woodwork be trusted? NOT this man!

Oh, let me guess who wrote this article. A liberal and Obama voter. Seems way to one sided. All politicians exaggerate their figures, it is par for the course. This article does not persuade me from voting for or supporting Mitt Romney, if anythings it makes me want him even more, because once again, it shows how liberal and one-sided the media is.

Your bias is belied by the triviality of your arguments. If my name is Joseph and I introduce myself as Joe, because that is what I go by and it what everyone calls me, it is a lie by your definition. For the rest of us, that is simply telling the truth in a much more useful way--which is what people should call me. You probably think that the NBA anger management problem formerly known as Ron Artest is lying when he claims that his name is Metta World Peace. So, you might be happier if Mitt said, "Wolf, my first name is really Willard, but nobody ever uses that. Even my mother calls me by the first name of Mitt--not to be confused with my last name, which is Romney. However, I am trying to be really honest here so that my enemies can't say I am covering it up." Then you, as a critic, would jump with joy because you could protray him as a socially inept dufus for overstating the obvious. And, you forget that the definition of a lie is any communication transmitted with the intent to deceive. By that definition, your whole article is a lie because you are deliberately classifying as lies any communication where you dispute the factual basis--without dealing with the question of intent. In fact, classifying the example above as a lie, is, in itself a lie--not just a factual misrepresentation--because you are deliberately mischaracterizing as a lie a communication wherein there was not only no intent to deceive, there was no motive to deceive and no realistic chance of anyone being materially deceived. But, that insight is no doubt too profound for someone who obviously thinks with hormones instead of brains. You hate Romney, so you find every opportunity to trash him. Fine. But people should know that it is you who is lying.
