Who Will Be the GOP Nominee?

With Tuesday's Iowa caucuses behind them, a slimmed down Republican 2012 field charges on to the New Hampshire primary. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney scraped by in Iowa, edging out former Pennsylvania Sen. Santorum by only eight votes; Rep. Ron Paul came in at a solid third. A sixth-place performance pushed Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann out of the race Wednesday. Fourth-placing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and  fifth-placing Texas Gov. Rick Perry plan to continue on to the next primaries even though their once front-running campaigns lose steam. Meanwhile, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who finished seventh after all but ignoring Iowa, will have to hope the considerable time and energy he has spent in New Hampshire will pay off and jump start his candidacy.
