Are the Herman Cain-Clarence Thomas Comparisons Fair?

I wonder where all this evidence of Clarence Thomas and his un American fecesness is?! This as with Clarence Thomas is yet another "high tech" modern day lynching as I have read it put. Convenient timing to undermine Cain's promising rise and a blatant racist hypocrisy from our friends in the media. If Cain gets elected, not only will we have a truly black or Negro president (not a pretty half and half like Hollywood's representation of black) but a conservative black president. The racial makeup shouldn't matter, but for those that it does, they can't stomach the combination it seems...

No Cain is no where near the kind of corrupt piece of un American feces that Thomas is.
Cain may be a lobbyist and he may have made some dumb gestures really, so what?
Thomas has taken bribes from parties with cases on the docket, he has taken vacations form parties with cases on the docket and he has lied about his income to the federal government.

I suspect that both Thomas and Cain probably told jokes that most radical feminists would consider sexist, sexual harassment.
Further, it is probable that the reason Hill didn't come forward until she was approached by Democratic operatives during the confirmation hearings 10 years later was simply because in the early 1980's the jokes or comments didn't rise to the level of harassment.
By the 1990's, the insidious adjustment of the p.c. meter had made, "Hi Miss Hill - You look great today." , into a crime.
I believe Cain's situation is basically the same.
That said, I note that the most recent, revered elder statesmen of the left - Clinton, and the late Ted Kennedy did far more than harass young females under their sway.... much, much more.
Yet their images appear untarnished.
Here's a short list of leftist politicians who have, relatively recently, been accused (nearly all proven) of sexual crimes, misdemeanors, misconduct and general lechery.
Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Edwards, Barny Frank, Arnold Swarzenegger (faux-Republican), Elito Spitzer, Gary Hart, The Reverend Jackson, Anthony Weiner, Eric Massa, Gary Condit, David Wu, David Ackerman, James McGreevey, Daniel Inouye, Gavin Newsom, and David Patterson (there are many more)...
If you go back a way then you have left wing icons; Martin Luther King, 3 Kennedy brothers ( and a bunch of their relatives) and of course FDR himself.
All of the above did a lot more than make alleged, subjective, sexual innuendo - as Thomas and Cain have been accused of.
