This is not a question, it is a statement of fact.

The so called "watchdogs" of the financial orgs. do nothing. Its not even "sneaky" anymore, it is outright blatant unethical and customer abuse.

Great Idea for the banking industry after all there origin is from loan sharking. Now you pay to get your own money. I thought the interest made on loans etc. was to pay for there services? Where does all that money generated with there interest go? I think its time to stop using the ATM's Write yourself a check cash it and start paying cash for things. But you know they will generate a fee for a fee for not using there ATM. Money hungry,Its not like they pay there employees anything except for the CEO's. Min. wage at best. Banks are on of the most dishonest ccompany's you will ever find. Look at the wall street mess. Millions of dollars lost do to illegal transactions etc. Did anyone go to jail? or arrested, I think its ironick we have to pay fees for using are own money, when they lose millions without any accountability. That says to me if they can get away with stealing millions like they did and do maybe thats why they need are fees

Ya Get Charged Three Differant ways You Call Up Your Agent To inquire lets say Change In Your Information Like a Phone number You Get Charged up To Three Dollors just For That Phone Call Than when You Use The Card At a A.T.M You Get Charged Two Times The Owner Of the A.T.M. Get Paid Up To Three Dollors a Swipe And The Debat Card Company Also Gets Up To Three dollors Per Swipe.this Is A monopoly And The Card holder is The big Sucker And Or a Mark For These Fees. This Needs To Stop.but This Will never happen Things Will only Get worse As Long as You Use A debat Card.

Yes! bank fees are just awful. The bank thinks nothing of it's customers. The fees must STOP.

You make a $100.00 deposit but you clear about $80.00 dollars after all the darn fees. What fees????Just robbing us. Just plain robbery.

This is absolutely unfair that we put our money in banks (wich they get the interest off of sitting there) and then have to pay a debet card fee to use our own money.

When my ATM card added POS debit card functionality in the early 90s, I used it for a $10 purchase. I was charged some ridiculous $1.14 fee on the purchase and never used a debit card again except for ATM cash withdrawals. So I never again used a debit card for a purchase and only use credit cards. Also in that era, most credit cards charged annual fees, so I used Discover Card. When Visa/MC started offering no annual fee cards, I got them, and now only the ones that offer reward points. I don't carry balances either.

So just say no, and take your business elsewhere to those that don't nickel and dime (actually buck, these days) you!

You know, what Durbin failed to consider is that the bank and credit union eat all cost of fraudulent transactions that the merchant accepts. The merchant has no obligation to identify the cardholder. It is a cramdown on the bank and in my case, my credit union. Why do the merchants get off scott free where there is fraud and my credit union gets charged back all fraud with huge losses not covered by insurance either?

it's our hard earned money and they are going to charge us to use our money. What about the people that just lost there jobs and are barely making it? You've just added another bill they have to pay. Many of us don't have the luxury of having a $20,000 bank account balance. Right now my balance is $2.29 and if BofA took out the $5 debit use fee then I would be overdrawn and BofA would be $35 richer. This has to stop!!!!! I will be taking my money out of BofA if this goes through.

I think that it is pitiful that we are being charged for using our ATM cards for purchases when that is why the banks started the fees for using checks to get away from the paper, after our tax dollars were used to bail them out and then they want to penalize us for using the services they had set in motion, maybe everyone should switch to Credit Unions because it seems to me that the banks banks we've been loyal to does'nt feel the same way toward thier customers.
