Sir: excellent piece; I agree on most points here. The U.S. must continue to engage with the Arab world, particularly in the nation of Libya. While we should not put troops on the ground in these nations, we must deploy our diplomatic and development abilities to help the Libyans, Egyptians, and Tunisians build governments that are more representative of their citizens.

All makes good sense. And don't underestimate the important role the CIA must play world-wide in fighting al Qaeda. Direct use of the Army, Ai Force and Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan is only part of the story.
