Is Cheney Taking Cheap Shots in His New Memoir?

Cheneys near manic defense of many of his closed minded decisions and assessments is pathetic. He is being dragged out of life's room screaming....THEY ARE ALL AGAINST ME!

This man's place in political history is deminishing with each defensive word emerging from his rapidly stiffening countenanace.

This lying, draft dodging, hypocrite is at it again. Josef Goebbels would be proud of this piece of crud called cheney.

Growing up during the Vietnam War, I recall watching Huntley-Brinkley and seeing the weekly American death toll while in grade school. In 1971, I enlisted in the Army and studied (hopped) Vietmamese (Zipanese) from Jan. to Dec. 1972. My orders to ‘Nam were canceled in Jan. 1973. Instead of serving in SE Asia, I served at a desk in the National Security Agency where I learned, from experience at age nineteen, the government lied.

No one in the Bush administration ever described a delivery system whereby WMDs would actually threaten US.

Here are under radar facts about the decision to invade Iraq.

1. "warrantless wiretaps"

"On May 26, 2011, President Barack Obama signed a four-year extension of three key provisions in the USA PATRIOT Act: [2] roving wiretaps, searches of business records (the "library records provision"), and conducting surveillance of "lone wolves" — individuals suspected of terrorist-related activities not linked to terrorist groups.[3]

2. "no bid contracts, seeing Halliburton grow 600 "

"Obama administration approves No-Bid Halliburton Contract...

I guess the evil Cheney wasn't so evil after all?"

Terrorist cut off our heads and roll them in the streets. I'm not going to argue merits of waterbrording with you. Terrorist do as they please. My side says getting bin-dead was because of it and your side will say it did not. We are over 40% of population, you 20 % and going lower.

Link says Cheney was wrong about Powell leaving early. I'll accept thatas true. Why not. Minor issue. Then there is Bush saddened about no WMD. Leading Democrats believed and some before Bush:

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."

--President Bill Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."

-Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."

-- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."

Letter to President Bush, Signed by:

-- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), and others, Dec 5, 2001

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."

-- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."

-- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."

-- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

-- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

Good coverage of a book release, and some tit-for-tats barbs between high ranking Bush administration officials, but where is the original reporting? Major media elsewhere is now covering claims that Cheney was and is a war criminal and traitor, receiving top cover by a network media whitewash. Did we forget the $6B Nigerian bribery scandal that took place while Cheney was CEO of Halliburton, and the half billion in fines KBR paid to immunize him under Cheney's own SEC?

What of claims by Seymour Hersh's source that Cheney had Petraeus pulled out of Iraq for dismantling battalions that were tainted with secret DOD plants to illegally torture and sexually humiliate detainees? Google operation 'copper green' for that one - US News sure isn't.

We now hear about the near White House walk out when Cheney authorized warrantless wiretaps, but he still hasn't explained - why not just get a retroactive warrant? This suggests he could have been spying on reporters, lawyers and political rivals - just what the FISA law was written to prevent.

How about the illegal secret energy meetings that ended in the Enron scandal, the BP spill and coal mining tragedies? How about the telecoms turning over private customer information - who authorized that?

Then we have the no bid contracts, seeing Halliburton grow 600 times its former size under VP Cheney's war on the taxpayer. Then we have Plamegate which is still prosecutable treason. And finally we have the DC Madam who told radio hosts Dick Cheney's number came up in researching her call lists.

What about Cheney claiming he was exempt from keeping Presidential Records after the he already trashed them, and the 'enhanced' interrogation tapes all getting erased after it was leaked Cheney was watching torture live, beamed into David Addington's office.

The worst part of the great big "media fail" is that crimes are now normalized for the next president.

Cheney is waterboarding us with his dishonest memoir!

Powell, Chief of Staff Lawrence Wilkerson gave the best response to Cheney's Memoir, calling out the lies and deceit:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8tqfIlUIlU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsSDLazFvyg

On the Today show Cheney essentially admitted it is OK for our enemies to waterboard US soldiers. Torture doesn't work so why are we still being tortured by Cheney still.

"UPDATED) Gallup Poll today: Obama now at lowest Approval ever, at 38%. Disapprove: 54%"

Tuesday August 23, 2011

"It seems in modern times, only the worst president in America’s modern history, Jimmy Carter, fared worse than Obama at this point in his presidency. Carter had Approval of only 32% of America. Obama’s closing in at 38%."

"popular consenus"

Where is the PROOF ???

Bill Hedges of MO 6:40PM August 30, 2011

Benedict Arnold ?......... Yeah...bad.

The Dulles Brothers committed horrible crimes that disgraced the United States, probably cost hundreds of thousands of lives, and directly led to our problems with Iran. .......Very Bad.

Jim Jones ?.............. No, thank you

Tiny Tim ? .........Definitely worst musician.

George W Bush ?.....Worst President.....ever.

Dick Cheney, though, brought a zeal for his self-serving, epithet-spewing National-destruction that has rightfully made him the Most Hated Man in America.

He is, by popular consenus, The Worst Living American.

Is he the worst ever ?
