Newt is a joke, peddling lies and his fictional books while well knowing he is unelectable. Newt is subverting campaign tax laws to enrich himself posing as a candidate. Newt is running for king and getting rich trying.
These phony perpetual political campaigns are the newest type of corporate welfare and we need kick Newt, Palin, Christine O'Donnell, and Ron Paul off the public dole.

pretty smart fella, and I think he would do his best for the good of the country. Umm.. kinda the opposite of the current egotistical Green Socialist occupying the White House, for which he paid handsomely I might add. I wonder how much BHO can squeeze out the Progressive coffers to buy the election this time around.

It is the political consultant community that is responsible for dumbing down the political discourse in this country. I may not vote for him, but I think Newt will take the national conversation beyond the carnival barker mode it's currently in. Everything is currently packaged for simpleton consumption and it needn't be.

I'm not laughing barry destroying medicare. Wait until obacare cuts $$$ 15 trillion from medicare. Doctors already limit medicare patients. Growing is number of hospitals refusing medicare patients.

His arrogance and cynnical opportunism has not won him many friends - which a person needs when faced with tough moments like this.
His unpleasant personal history is similar to John Edwards' too - so his wife trade-ins don't help. Now the lavish spending on this plastic wife (#3?) at Tiffany's and the luxury cruise seem to put people off too - though I'm not sure why that matters....
He also didn't realize that the political climate now is toxic - haters, strident discipline to all line up on votes - no independent thinking allowed in the GOP right now. Newt's only asset - his brain and original thought - is not an asset now as it was in the 1990's. The "crazy-right" demands a parrot that repeats the same lines over and over - so no amount of intellectual deftness will help.
I have yet to see anyone in the GOP who would not be laughable as president.... Anyone with real leadership skills is too moderate for the wingnuts and eccentrics leading the party. Too bad. I used to vote GOP, but when they morphed into the John Birch Society - that party left me...I didn't leave it.
