President Obama released his long-form birth certificate this morning, after the birther movement, which questions the president’s status as a natural-born citizen, became what he called too much of a distraction. The movement's profile had been raised recently by renewed attention from potential 2012 presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The White House press release said the president wanted to end the distraction, which he thinks is bad for the nation. “It may have been good politics and good TV,” the release said, “but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country.”

But will this be enough to end the birther movement? When questions about Obama’s birthplace surfaced during the 2008 campaign, his camp released a short-form birth certificate—the same document all Hawaiians get when they request a birth certificate, the White House said, and the same document Hawaiians use to apply for a driver’s license. But birthers denied that document proved the president was natural-born citizen.

"Birtherism was always a symptom, not the actual problem," writes U.S. News blogger Robert Schlesinger, suggesting the new certificate probably won't dissuade hard core birthers, who simply have a problem with the president. "That irrationality won’t go away, it will simply find a new outlet."

The newly public certificate includes all the details birthers have been asking for, and it is a certified copy with a stamp and signature from the state registrar, though the buzz in the blogosphere indicates not everyone is convinced the document is real. The White House had previously expressed concern that releasing the long-form certificate would not satisfy conspiracy theorists and may simply lead to further demands.

What do you think? Will Obama’s long-form birth certificate end the birther movement? Take the poll and post your thoughts below.

This blatant forgery called a Hawaiian 'Certificate of Live Birth' is so bad that even a 5th grader could make a better one - with a cheap computer.

The real question now is: 'Why would the American people (and Congress) accept such a blatantly forged Birth Certificate as proof of anything but TREASONk, and not call for IMPEACHMENT - NOW?'

AND THEN THEY CAME FOR ME …

“First they came for the Patriots and Constitutionalists, and I did not speak out –-

Because I was a Congress-member;

Then they came for the Tea Partiers and peaceful protesters, and I did not speak out –-

Because I was a member of the Judiciary;

Then they came for LCDR Walter Fitzpatrick and LTC Terry Lakin, and I did not speak out –-

Because I was an active duty General Officer;

Then they came for the sovereignty-declaring people of the Republic, and I did not speak out –-

Because I was liberal Obama-loving Marxist member of the Media;

Then they came for me –

And there was no one left to speak out for me.”

So,let's play for real here. The forgery seems stupidly obvious. The President say's he's a citizen, so let's have Seal Team Six, honorable oathkeepers that they are, decide that particular issue - forgery or not! Seals are superbly trained at spotting danger, smart, honest Americans sworn with their lives to protect the Constitution of the United States. They come from all over America and represent the best and most able of our citizens.

The birthers come second to the Constitution and Richard Nixon proved that the President comes second to the Constitution. Let team six hear both sides, examine the alleged original birth certificate and render a judgment. I think the vast majority of Americans would accept that judgment. The others from farthest left and right never accept anything (but their own opinions) but they still are a minority in this country. So, how about it?

The Birther nonsense is the perfect dodge, standing pick, foil, and decoy for the real scam the Republicans are trying to pull.

The pimps promoting the birther nonsense are counting on you to not notice that conservatives are trying to rob the treasury and give away the store to their wealthy backers. The Koch's are paying top dollar to keep the birther bs going, while their evil sidekicks in the the House GOP are trying push thru an extremist agenda - to destroy Medicare, VA benefits, social security, public education and any regulations that limit the greed of the neo-fascists to install colonial rule here.

While you are fussing about birth cetificates which no one doubts anymore you are missing the plundering, pillage and rapine of this country by conservative fascists stealing our treasury.

Notice how Sarah Palin wants to keep the subsidies to the oil companies - A mere 4 Billion Dollars is just a drop in the bucket to continue Taxpayer Subsidies For Oil Companies. All while its really another tea tax on Americans pay for the continuation of the colonial monopolies of oil companies.

You can piddle around about the birther nonsense all you want, but you are the victim of the scam as long as you pay attention to it, and take your eyes off the ball on the real highway robbery going on.
