On Sunday evening, many Americans will be glued to television sets to see who will be wearing the best Vera Wang or Rodarte or Carolina Herrera on the red carpet—or if any outfit will beat Bjork’s 2001 crazy swan dress. But the real mystery is which film will join the ranks of The Godfather, Gone with the Wind, and Slumdog Millionaire. The 83rd annual Academy Awards has film buffs wondering what it took to win this year’s coveted Best Picture Award: ballerinas, toys, dream invaders, or a stuttering king?

Black Swan saw Natalie Portman’s ballerina character descend into madness, The Social Network told the tale of Facebook’s manic founder, and Inception brought audiences into a world where even dreams are not safe from thieves—or was Leonardo DiCaprio’s character only dreaming the whole time? And who could forget that pink, cuddly, strawberry-scented villain Lotso Bear, who terrorized Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the gang?

But which film deserves the big prize?

What do you think? Who Is Your Pick for the Best Picture Oscar? Take the poll and post your thoughts below.

While there are some really good movies in the running this year - Inception, True Grit, The Fighter, Rabbit Hole, Winter's Bone, The Social Network, Toy Story 3...I would really like to see an exquisite movie like "King's Speech" win. And I hope there aren't any awards given again for performing "porn" scenes then declaring it "art", like with the 2002 Academy Awards: Halle Berry - Monster's Ball, 2009 Academy Awards: Kate Winslet - The Reader, and this year's 2011 Golde...n Globes: Natalie Portman - Black Swan. Acting as such characters in that manner, defiles the feminine self worth. I understand the physiological aspect of the characters that they're portraying and the story they're trying to tell, but you can do that without resorting to such "in your face" sex scenes. Leaving something to the imagination is creative, artistic, intelligent, challenging and classy. Just saying. :)
