If that is what it takes to win the Medal of Freedom, this stupid institute should also award one to Hilter, Stalin and cruel dictators that US/western hypocritical countries did to further their imperialistic capital economies that are anti-foreign races, religions and cultures, LOL!!!

He would have had his second term. Our major loss. Might not have had women chaser Bill Clinton. Who caused this recession with Carter's energized homes for unqualified home buyers.

I remember his falling ill shortly after leaving office in Japan having dinner. Thank goodness it wasn't serious.

So few good men reach the White House. Two came from his family. Maybe Jeb some day ?

One of the most gloriously optimistic statements GHW Bush ever made was about the nature of Americans who took on the toughest challenges our society presents. To paraphrase, he said, "Every problem in America is being solved, somewhere." It's such a simple, but profound statement. Whether it was homelessness, the high school dropout rate, teen pregnancy, illiteracy, or the myriad of problems that afflict so many communities... somewhere, somebody, had cracked the code as to a solution for their particular neighborhood, their town, their school, etc. The challenge was how to replicate the solution, how to share it, how to learn from one community and apply those lessons to the next. His Daily Points of Light program of which Mary Kate Cary so eloquently speaks, was a noble attempt to do just that. For that, and so many other reasons, I was thrilled to see him honored today by President Obama, and proud to have served in his White House.

To know him, to have had the opportunity and honor to serve in his Administration....is the ability to see that this man deserves the Medal of Freedom and the appreciation of all Americans for his contributions to this country during his presidency and up to the present day. Congratulations and best wishes to George H.W. Bush. A job well done and the recognition you deserve.
