TSA Has Its Security Priorities in the Wrong Place

Once we lose our rights we will NEVER get them back. We are losing our rights not inch by inch but foot by foot. People are already becoming robotic as they walk right in the scanners without question. It amazes me how people will just do whatever they are told in the name of safety.

The only security that john pistole cares about is his own retirement fund, it's no secret that former TSA administrator michael chertoff is making millions of his porno scanners and pistole pat downs will make americans flock to those machines, what a few complaints about child pornography to a bunch of low lives who are determined to make millions off their government service.

Of course there is something wrong with the scanners.

1) They are nothing less than a digital strip search without warrent and/or probable cause.

2) They don't actually detect thin irregular shapes of plastic explosives.

3) They have NOT been subjected to long-term honest radiation safety tests.

4) And the WORST thing about them is that THEY ARE CREATING CHILD PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES EVERY TIME A PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF 18 IS SCANNED!!!!!!!!! Don't you get it? There are many, many people in prison for creating and viewing nude images of children's genitals, and now our government says that we either subject ourselves to that, or we must allow some creep to place their hands on our breasts, buttocks and genitals as punishment for not submitting to the digital strip search.

5) And of course, they are another way that the government is eroding our Constitutional Rights.

My family will not submit.

I flew every week for 5 years until the barely literates decided to sexually assault people at the airport. I ended my flying career. It does not matter if the machines work, are dangerous because anything that shows my genitals is against the 4th admendment. John Pistole does not support the constitution and should be removed from his position

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

The backscatter scanners -- foisted on the TSA by Rapiscan lobbyist/former DHS secretary Michael Chertoff -- are dangerous. The video posted below from After the Press (afterthepress.com) has broken through the major media hyperbole barrier to answer the real questions about what’s wrong with these machines. Neither of the interviewees, two of the most reputable scientists in the field of radiation physics and technology, will step into one. So whether or not you’re offended by the prospect of becoming the subject of a live peepshow for blue-gloved agents, or care about your rights being abrogated, you’ll still want to be cognizant of the danger in subjecting your or your children's bodies to backscatter radiation.

Yes, terrorism will continue to be a problem. Some day, it could get to be so bad that it is as dangerous as getting salmonella from a cutting board, getting struck by lightning, or even become as much of a threat to you as you are to yourself, as perhaps terrorism rates will someday become as high as suicide rates.

But of course it will never, ever be as dangerous as skiing, driving, smoking, eating at McDonalds, operating a power tool, or having sex.

So now the airlines are a tiny bit safer, but the determined terrorists will move on to "softer" targets, like Times Square, Xmas tree lighting ceremonies and cargo bombs.

Next attack - shopping centers, schools, cruise ships, sports events, subways, tunnels, buses, airport security lines to name but a few.

We cannot possibly catch every attempt by screening, but we can humiliate millions of people and help bankrupt already hurting commercial aviation companies.

Fire 25,000 TSA clerks, dump the scanners and pat-downs, bring in dogs, and give the saved money to the FBI & CIA, who can actually catch terrorists (maybe).

I, for one, won't fly until this travesty is lifted.

And yet another article today that sheds doubts on these sketchy scanners:

It will help.

And when the next would be bomber has a device in a body cavity will we have to submit to a body cavity search? I will not subject myself nor my family to needless radiation exposure nor TSA molestation. I will not be flying until the TSA changes these procedures.

"They say the risk is minimal, but statistically someone is going to get skin cancer from these X-rays," Dr Michael Love, who runs an X-ray lab at the department of biophysics and biophysical chemistry at Johns Hopkins University school of medicine, told AFP."No exposure to X-ray is considered beneficial. We know X-rays are hazardous but we have a situation at the airports where people are so eager to fly that they will risk their lives in this manner," he said

I agree with other posters, there is absolutely nothing RIGHT with full-body scanners. Hopefully, for your sake, your first sentence that was a typo. Maybe you should correct it.
