Obama on Sharron Angle: 'More Extreme' Than DC's GOP

He might not have mentioned her by name, but Thursday night President Obama lambasted Tea Party candidate Sharron Angle during a fundraiser for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, referring to her only as "Reid's opponent." On many issues, Obama said, "she favors an approach that's even more extreme than the Republicans we got in Washington." "She wants to phase out and privatize Social Security and Medicare," he said, and "eliminate the federal investment in our children's educations." Earlier on Thursday, Angle had said that the United States is "going in the wrong direction" under Obama and Reid's leadership, and that the stimulus bill had succeeded only in jacking up the national debt.
