The Republicans' Tea Party Problem

Not everyone is American. If you can't support the fact that though my opinion is different than yours and that I have just as much right to speak and act on it than I don't think you adhere to the ideals of an American in a constitutional Republic. This idea that we are some how a "democracy" is as twisted as liberal thinking. The fact that you claim to be a "treehugger" exposes your thoughts that we should apologize for the industrial revolution taking us back "hundreds" of years. That type of dialectic materialism is as foolish as Obama or Stalin's fix for the budget crisis...... Take over the industry.

My suggestion to you treehugger is go find your stash of drugs and smoke a few more..... maybe you can be quiet along with your stupidity!

that's threatening to regulate the internet. And it's conservative judges that continually let sexually-violent criminals off. And of course it's conservatives who are threatening boycotts against Americans who politically disagree with them. And Pres. Obama REALLY isn't in bed with George Soros, GE, Goldman-Sachs, BP, Van Jones (and his ilk!)- It just looks that way!!

Treehugger of CO, you were right!! It's me that's backwards - of course JUSTICE shouldn't be blind, it should be one-sided toward liberals/progressives and their drive to create a universal 'fairness'. Thank you so much!! God Bless You!

and distract us from the real issues, I would be surprised to see the tea party last beyond 2012 Although I would love to see new political parties that are based on the teachings of our forefathers.

I have been a democrat most of my voting years, I am now a independent who is somewhat pleased with President Obama but wished he had more backbone.

President Obama deserves to win in 2012, Nevertheless our next president should come from a new party, the parties of the past and present of which we had presidents are Democratic, Republican, Whig, Democratic-Republican, Federalist, Independent.

I noticed George Washington (1789-1797) was an independent.

Big business will dissolve our freedoms and must be put out of the white house before big business dissolves America with there reckless spending

Do I care if the illegals are Hispanic, Asian or Middle Easternere? No. I care about a slip shop U.S. government who can't even protect its borders.

To add insult to injury, they give entitlements to these illegal people. (food, housing etc. When the illegals commit crimes - they put them in US jails. (30% of inmates in the U.S. are illegals)

Let them come here and work - legally - for however long it takes to pick a crop or put on a roof, but no entitlements. And pay U.S. taxes. That's a progressive compromise.

Calderone tells the U.S. how to govern our country? Why? Because he does not want criminals in his country. Let them go to the U.S. Also, he needs the money they send back.

Next - sxtrengthen our gun laws. Make new laws and enforce the old. Take away a possible reason for the illegals to illegally come here.

We need to strengthen U.S. culture - not feed and nourish other cultures. It is not healthy for us as a strong American nation.

Furthermore, we have immigrant laws on the books. Abide by them. Insist upon allegiance to our culture through language study (English) and assimilation into our way of life.

The GOP supported Tea Party is a bigoted group of white, wealthy southern conservatives who use the bible to attempt to make them look good. This is a group far from Christian. Their negative behavior, biased attitudes and willingness to deceive and distract is just the plain old strategy of the GOP'S way of... distraction, distortion and deception. As far as Sarah Palin, her political style is disturbing to the majority of Americans. Her style is limited to disrespect of the oppostion, taunting and verbal vitriol. Our Constitution guarantees us many freedoms, including freedom of speech. But with that freedom comes responsibility. Palin's manner of inciting crowds with her ugly seditious remarks aimed at those who disagree with the GOP and her shows a serious lack of responsibility and a terrible lack of respect for the American voter. Apparently, the GOP and Palin, Beck and the rest of the bigoted pundits feel they are the only ones free to say want they want and free to vote as they please. What they forget is there are only a few thousand teapartiers vs millions of 'real' American voters who have the right to vote as they see fit.

On Arizona, I was there attending a conference in Phoenix and was shocked to see how Native Americans and people of color are treated. I had asked a young man to help me unload some material for the meeting, and as we walked to the center, a police car stopped us, knocked the boxes from his hands and threw him against the car....without even asking for ID. Here was an American citizen, with olive skin, a minor on top of that almost arrested, his crime, having an olive complexion. If I had not stepped in and demanded the officer explain his actions, he would have arrested the young man only because of the color of his skin. That is Arizona...and it's continuing problem of racial profiling. Of course, since white's do not suffer this, they could care less. I wonder how Gov. Jan Brewer, or McCain or Palin would feel if it happened to them or their children. Thank God, the Tea Party wil not last long since they do not know what they are, what their real cause is, or where they are going. They have no solutions to any problem, but end up like Boehner, sticking their foot in their mouth.

The Tea Party is a mix of GOP paid talking heads who only repeat the same old negative, going no-where rhetoric of the Republicans.

If you and your ilk were not so racist, the progressives wouldn't have to work so hard to make things fair in this great country. It is people like you, who don't like America because your ideas for life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness can only be your way. Perhaps, you need to open up your thick skull and take off your rose colored glasses to see that there are many people in America that don't want to be under you or your ilks control.

You are correct that WE ARE ALL AMERICANS, but you seem to lose sight of the fact, that not all Americans see or want America to be the way you want it to be. It is the conservatives who are destroying our country and setting us back hundreds of years. Progress is hard for the ignorant.

Robert Schlesinger needs to read up on the Three-fifths Compromise -- It was not the result of some general belief on the part of our founders that slaves were less than human. The concept was originally introduced in a failed amendment to the Articles of Confederation, where the pro-slavery, southern states wanted only 3/5 of slaves counted for the purposes of determining state taxes paid to the Federal government. In the case of the Constitutional Convention, it was the anti-slavery, northern states that wanted only 3/5 of slaves counted for the purposes of determining the number of representatives each state would be able to elect to the federal government -- the North refused to allow the South to have a huge number of additional representatives/votes in the federal government based on a slave population that couldn't vote and whose interests certainly wouldn't be represented by the representatives their numbers would justify. So the 3/5 Compromise was actually the result of the North making sure that the South would not be able to wield undue power in the Federal government on account of South's population being swelled up with slaves -- primarily for the North's sake and in the hope that abolition would have a chance of eventual success.

Nobody like you nobody wants you. You elected Paul and he already put his foot in his mouth saying racism in private companies is okay. Good luck in November! Oh and Brown has failed you too!

While I agree Boehner and other "top" Republicans tend to blunder around alot, your rose-colored glasses have completely blinded you. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech has more and more relevance by the day---and it was always relevant.

The "New Democrat Network" released a poll that favored Democrats? I'M STUNNED.

It disgusts me that progressives CONTINUALLY preach the differences among our population, instead of pointing out the commonality of all the citizens - WE ARE ALL AMERICANS!! Quit separating us by color, religion, or gender!!!

Pres. Bush was wrong to push for special exceptions for law-breaking, and Pres. Obama is too. Being an American requires love of life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. ANY OTHER objectives WARP the beauty of our country; Progressives please leave if you want UTOPIA - there are plenty of other countries attempting the impossible - get the heck out of our imperfect but freedom loving country!!! JUSTICE is BLIND, get that through your thick skulls!
