John Yoo shame upon you, I hope the book deal is worth it, you should give all the money to amnesty international or to the families of the hundreds of detainees who dies in custody. America was the good guy after WW2 despite nuking the japanese, they have lost the high ground and I think the definition of "terrorist" applies more to the US military and the Government in charge than to the bearded men who run around in mountain top countries.

Maybe if those from Colorado or California lived closer to Ground Zero their understanding of the emotional impacts of 9/11 would be better. How is torture defined? What is it?
If you believe that "shocking" a suspect into cooperating by imposing mental stress while causing no lasting harm, under strict guidelines and medical supervision is torture then thankfully we had others making that call. There is no doubt that the information we obtained from KSM and Abu Zubaydah, to name just a few, kept America safer and saved innocent lives. Killing innocent civilians is disgusting.
What is also disgusting is Torture as it was applied during Spanish Inquisition, by the Khmer Rogue or Nazi Germany. Comparing this to what the CIA had done in the fight against terror may incite the far left but it is untrue comparison.
The current administration, pretending to take the moral high ground, seems to prefer drone attacks which kill the intended target. Drone attacks also kill anyone else who may be close by, including children. Not a suprise. These same "moral high grounders" typically support abortion, but are against capital punishment and waterboarding. in their search for the moral high ground they they seemed to have found moral hypocrisy.

So, what is America today, may I ask? If one consults the Founding Fathers, America, no question, has converted itself into the most brutal and far-reaching Empire ever! What would George Washington say, were he to rise and find that America's ever more inhumane and horrendous war machinery, is now circling the globe and shooting and threatening to shoot to pieces any nation that does not bow low quickly so to speak, when he uttered these eternal words in his farewell speech? "Overgrown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicous to liberty and are to be rgarded as pzrticularly hostile to republicna liberty". For the readers' information, Dwight D.Eisenhower spoke similar words of warning!
He also uttered these words: "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed an those who are cold and are not clothed. Let's bring back George Washington: "No pecuniary consideration is more urgent than the regular redemption and discharge of the public debt, on none can delay be more injurious or an ecomony of time more valuable". So, does the American citizenry know that now the true National Debt is actually way over $100 trillion if the unfunded liabilities that of Social Security an Medicare are counted now standing at $99.2 trillion and plus what the Federal Government tells the American people that it is only about $12+ trillion! Let's see what Thomas Jefferson has to say about living beyond means: "The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, in the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale". Yes, the Founding Fathers are declearing in very simple but clear ways that America is now the most vile and brutal militarictic Empire ever! One great evidence also that America is now what I said above, is for the fact, that America's borders truly do not exist anymore, which was true of all past Empires. In closing this: 9/11 made in America, by America, for America, in the shop of complete and absolute lawlessness/anarchy with the Commander in Chief its foreman, in a figure of speech again! Yes, while America messess all around the globe with its despicable military might another nation of illegals has fully settled in whose language is now respected even legally everywhere one looks. America has now joined Canada as two headed monster, right? I am speaking as a legal immigrant now going on 54 years who proudly voted for the only true patriotic American who wanted to be the Commander in Chief, yes the honorable he man and true husbeand, father and a Christian Medical Doctor who values human life according to the Creator of us all. Yes, that man is none other than Ron Paul. The man that I compare to George Washington!

There is NO RATIONALIZATION FOR TORTURE. We have shown we are capable of protecting ourselves via multiple, other means. We have destroyed our credibility in the world and will continue to do so as long as world views like those of Yoo continue to be validated, considered. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!
