Despite accusations of fraud in this past August's elections, Hamid Karzai was sworn in for his second five-year presidential term on Thursday. President Karzai vowed in his inaugural address to combat the dangerous corruption and ensure good governance in Afghanistan. According to BBC, leaders in the west, such as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, wished him well on his new term, but urged him to produce "tangible benefits" for his people.
