Tip of the Green Spear: The Military Leads on Efficiency, Alternative Energy

The military must take drastic measures regarding their energy needs since they realize that the eco-socialists who control our government will not allow us to drill in the frozen tundra of Alaska, off the Pacific coast or off Florida. The military also understand that the enviro-ninnies won't pursue nuclear power, clean coal or natural gas. Logistical strategists/planners must prepare for the worst case situation caused by the madness of Environmentalism - the State Religion.

"Going Green Has Gone Insane".

Like it or not, innovation in this country has frequently been driven by the military, the internet being a classic example. If we are fortunate, new energy technologies developed as a result of military (and military-funded) R&D will reap real benefits in the civilian world.

As the author notes, military efforts of this sort are driven by stark necessity. It would be helpful if partisans on both sides of the aisle ignored the cultural stereotypes that have hindered progress on this and other fronts.

You lying and fake environmentalist like Al Gore are after money, that's it, and Al Gore has proved it. He will be a Billionaire in a few short years when his puppet Obama crams through "green" legislation. Green however represents money....not the environment!!

Have you been on a military base recently to see the fuel-efficient vehicles used when and where they can be?

And can a Prius as it is presently designed withstand a mortar attack?

Do you know about the efforts being made to improve fuel efficiency of heavy military vehicles?

Before being so glib about your military and the efforts they go to on your behalf and mine, maybe you could try learning a few facts. Fact one: Our U.S. military isn't "they" — it's us, our neighbors and friends and family.

On a related note, might I ask what readers of this article drive on a daily basis?

I do drive a Prius hybrid, specifically purchased as a sign that I intended to reduce my fuel needs — so that my fellow Americans wouldn't have to go overseas to fight wars to protect America's oil demands.

Why are they driving Hummers instead of Prius Hybrids?
