On Tuesday, a lone Republican, Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe, and 13 Democrats voted to pass Montana Democratic Sen. Max Baucus' healthcare bill out of the Senate Finance Committee and onto the Senate floor. Democrats, including President Obama, celebrated Snowe's vote as paving the way for further bipartisan support for healthcare reform. Nevertheless, the rest of the Republican Party has not publicly endorsed the bill and continues to criticize it for its high costs and potential ineffectiveness. What do you think? What does her vote mean for the future of healthcare reform? Does Olympia Snowe have too much power? Take our poll and post your thoughts below.

A Senator who actually works to craft the best bill she can while bucking the "do nothings" in her own party. How can we give her more power?

The Democrats (like the virus that they are ) have found a "carrier" for their pathogen .I will wager that she is not going to run for reelection. On a side note ,What difference will Universal Coverage make for the uninsured if there already exists a shortage of M.D.'s .Nurses or if there is a 2nd Great Depression?
