Can Barack Obama Keep America Safe?

I once beat a Class A Chess Player, even though I am a crummy chess player, by making a series of irrational moves which blew the mind of the Class A Player; he thought I had a master strategy and by the time he realized that I didn't know what I was doing, I had won the game. He wanted a rematch but wisely I refused and let him stew about it.

The point is that Obama doesn't know what he is doing and by making irrational moves he may or may not be able to pull the wool over our enemies eyes. If Obama fails, we have bloodshed on Ameican soil, If he succeeds then we got lucky. However it would be better if we had a President who knew what he was doing so we don't have to depend on luck. Think about it.

Obama is saying one thing and Pelosi is saying another; Obama can't control the loose cannon Pelosi. If Obama can't control a member of his group, then how in hell can he lead our country?

Bush/cheney would have had us in a war by now, but that would have not helped America with torture and other things America was guilty of. And besides as I recall President Obama is working with other Governments and cannot act on his own.

I realy hope that the President is practical but until now all i see is naivety. It is frightening to see the US president travells to Denmark for a cause that everyone knew could not be acheived. It's frightening because it shows that the president realy believes that throught impressive speech he can deliver actual results. The extremists of Islam have an agenda based, in their opinion, on God's wish. It is exectly the same agenda that the extremists-Communists had, to "convince" the world to join then. They too chant, "we can change" but unlike the new president they follow-up the chants with dids. President Reagan understood it and eliminated Communism. President Obama must understand it otherwise, If the president does'nt show the stick soon, 9.11 will look like a midget in retrospect.

Here we have Iran sitting on top of an oil field stating that Iran wants nuclear power only for peaceful purposes; they need nuclear power to supply power to their country? Sure they do.

What will really happen is Iran will send low grade radioactive material to Russia for purification and in turn Russia will send Iran Weapons Grade Uranium and Plutonium because Iran and Russia are in bed with each other as they have been for many, many years. Russia has been coaching Iran as how to build up their nuclear power for weaponry and the final touch will be sending weapons grade atomic material so Iran can destroy Israel. Lets all sit back and watch this drama unfold, which it will.

In 1939, Great Briton's Prime Minister MacMillan, came back from Germany after a meeting with Hitler who reassured McMillan that Germany would not attack England. The headlines read "Peace in our Time." Hitler also had signed a peace treaty with Russia. We all know what happened next. For you young people who haven't paid much attention to history, What happened was World War II.

Today, Obama had a meeting with Iran and the 5 member Nuclear Power countries, where Iran agreed to let inspectors into its nuclear power facilities to make sure that weapons grade nuclear material is not fabricated. Sounds too good to be true but everyone involved agreed to having Russia purify the low grade nuclear material up to what is needed for peaceful utilization.

However, it was Russia who taught Iran how to make all this nuclear material and weapon delivery systems. Russia and Iran have been in bed together for years so I suspect that Russia could enrich the nuclear material to weapons grade purity and the rest of the world would never know it until Iran launches missiles with atomic warheads. Iran gave in too easily.

Iran has vowed to wipe Israel off the map and I doubt that Iran was going to use conventional weaponry, but rather Atomic weaponry instead.

The enriched nuclear material should be inspected before delivery to Iran. I don't trust Iran and I don't trust Russia. I can see Israel nukeing Iran in five years at the most.

“Failure is not an option” could mean permission to disobey united states policies or the Geneva convention policies.

We could lower our standards I suppose But would that not cause other problems, it would certainly keep the military in business. But you think we can keep the missiles away from America with our hypocrisy.

I am sure if bush/cheney was in office we would be at war with iran because at least cheney if not bush had low standards. But is that what America is about “Low Standards” How can we be a shining light to the world when our light is dimmer than others around us. If we are to remain safe we must obey our own laws and policies “ Failure Is Not An Option”

Sorry Don ,but we can't as a SuperPower, careen from one extreme to the other.History is rife with examples of other civiliztions lies, mistakes, ill advised policies etc.Without intentionally giving credibility to a Kubrick film character -we have in essence "gotten our hair mussed".We have to now make the best of a bad situation .Failure is NOT an option.

I believe President Obama is moving cautiously, I hope anyway after what bush/cheney did to us, President Obama needs to be careful and make sure the UN and our allies are on our side. And it sounds to me most of them are, after Sunday and Mondays launch I believe Tehran might have more sanctions or worse problems.

The president has tried to extend his hand but iran has different plans.

the president should not be naive to believe that with a nice way they will listen to him.

Very nice to work with people. But experience is the best criteria for making decisions regarding who you are willing to work with and trust. Every single incident regarding terrorism has proven that they will lie, cheat and steal to achive their aim of destroying America and its allies. It is more than foolish to trust to diplomacy to protect America and Americans. Britain tried it with Hitler; America and Britain tried it with Stalin and so on and so forth. It is amazing to me that so many people are still willing to believe that liars will do what they say they will do. How many times do you have to be played the fool before you realize that strength and the willingness to use it is the only language the enemy understands?

Americans, do you really trust Iran's leaders? Do you really believe you can negotiate a peaceful cessation of hostilites with Bin-Laden? Do you really believe the North Koreans are nice guys just waiting to make up and be friends? Do you believe the Somali pirates will stop being pirates because the President of the United States says it is bad to be a pirate?

Wake up, put your dangerous naked idealism aside for a while. History is what really happened, idealism is what we would have liked to see happen. History shows that tyrants and dictators did not get to power by being pliable nice guys willing to negotiate. They took power by destroying anyone or anything in their way. And they did not hesitate to have meetings with their adversaries and lie about their intentions.
