Reported blowup over "torture" investigation suggests an administration shakeup could be near

President Obama's vacation is off to a rocky start, reports Peter Roff at the Thomas Jefferson Street blog: "Now, without the president being gone from Washington even for one full day, comes a damaging leak about the CIA's Leon Panetta, which ABC News reported involved 'a profanity-laced screaming match' inside the White House over plans by Attorney General Eric Holder to open an investigation into whether agents might be guilty of acts the president has labeled as 'torture.' " Panetta, Roff says, "may have his head on the chopping block." With the administration's healthcare and cap-and-trade legislation stalled, is division in the national security sector a sign that Team Obama's unity is cracking? Or are occasional shakeups just part of an administration's growth process? Weigh in below.

Spies are not protected by the Geneva Convention. During war time, when caught, they are tortured to death to obtain information or executed.

Terrorists are also not mentioned in the Geneva Convention. They do not represent a government. They do not wear a military uniform. They do not represent a nation. There are no laws in any country dealing with the so-called rights of terrorists. Therefore, when caught, they can be treated in the same way as spies. If that was done with all the detainees right from the beginning, there would not have been a torture issue.

Three thousand people were tortured to death in the World Trade Center by terrorists. Why exempt these terrorists, if caught alive, from the same fate?

Considering the fact that we have already a Communist in the White House advising the President and what is going on at present in the Justice Department, it is not far-fetched that one might conclude that an Al-Qaeda mole has penetrated that department to wreck the C.I.A.

American government sound so stupid with the witch hunt in the CIA: the message is I love the terrorists more than you CIA agents. Terrorists cut off Americans' head, who will dig into it? I hope they cut off your head too, or blow you into pieces, then we'll talk about how we should interrogate them. Obama Administration - you are a laughing stock of the world.

If I remember right obama said "it is time to move foreword" or something like that it is other democrats that do not want cheyne the torturer to go free. All of this digging for dirt will rub off on you, I know I worked for the forest service for awhile.

What is important is that you tell your politicians what you think. I have typed it for days but I do not Know if it is doing any good. If health care go through without the peoples input it will not work but then the people have separated themselves from the politicians and complain among themselves so that the politicians cannot hear them. we do not want to side with big business or small business or with special interest groups that work for them . But we need to start a grass roots group with educators professors, farmers, scientist and regular people so all will be represented and we need these groups to start all over America and stay in contact with one another and the government.
