Jenny Sanford for South Carolina Governor--Women Pols Have Fewer Sex Scandals

Anyone who calls themselves a "devout Christian" is someone to watch very closely. There is no need to use those words at all, thus red flags should be flying. Action is what we look for not words. Both Governor Sanford and his wife, Jenny, can read paragraphs from the Bible all they want (it's very annoying actually) and here again action is what's important.
Regarding women in office not being involved in sex scandals as much as men, that is probably true. It comes down to basic biology folks; that's how a man is wired. Some can/want to control it better than others. The decision to do something about it or not is the moral issue.
And so the discussions will continue, the affairs will continue as they have continued for hundreds of years only now we have the Internet etc. so everyone knows everyone's business.
Bill Clinton despite his horrendous indiscretion in the White House is being paid millions of dollars for books and public speaking engagements! Maybe Governor Sanford will write a book now, with his wife, quoting the Bible and telling all of us how we should live a good "Christian" life.
I can hardly wait.

This isn't about there being women ready to do the job, but whether women will be more or less ethical in office than men. Now I don't have a problem with a woman leading, but don't tell me females are more moral than men. From what I have seen, women are just as susceptible to making immoral descisions as men. Now how about this: why don't we try voting for people who have high ethical standards and have proven that they can take responsibility for their actions? Call me crazy, but this might work better than saying one sex is morally better than the other.

REP HELEN CHENOWETH (R-Id.):
In her 1998 campaign, Chenoweth admitted to a six-year adulterous affair with a married associate. In 1995, Chenoweth had denied the affair when asked about it by The Spokane Spokesman-Review, but now she claims a pardon from a higher authority: "I've asked for God's forgiveness, and I've received it," she revealed.
SIDE NOTE: Chenoweth also claims that the government is using secret black helicopters to enforce the Endangered Species Act, which she vehemently opposes. She has broken campaign finance laws on at least two occasions.
REP SUE MYRICK (R-NC):
Myrick describes herself as a "devout Christian." In 1989, Myrick was running for a second term as Charlotte mayor when news reports revealed that she committed adultery with a married man in 1973. Myrick admitted the adultery and won reelection.

Women Pols have fewer sex scandals, because there are fewer women Pols. Just look at female celebrities for a clue. Let's not continue to imbalance the genders by suggesting that one of them has more moral fortitude than the other... 'cause... it ain't true.

A war of words is a beastly business. But one proof we are human is our ability to learn, even from it, how better to exist. (With apologies to MFK Fisher.)
Mr. Gagnon may want to make light of the author’s opinions, but the point is we should pause, reflect, and learn from the actions of Governors Sanford and Spitzer. These two are an embarrassment to voters. We should open our eyes and minds to new leadership – and accept the fact there are women with the experience who are ready to serve.

Several comment screens dealt with Sanford's amorality. i expected to find at least one person using the phrase "He's just not that into you,"--from "Sex & the City," and sure enough, there it was. Sitcom's are shaping public opinion. Many plots include religiosity. The felonious CRIME of bigamy can be called "a SIN." After the crime is swept under the filthy old paper rug called Scripture, the betrayed spouse and kids are expected to '"forgive and forget." There is no "soul," but believers pay the ten per cent tithe "to keep their souls from burning in Hell." Tax-paid Sanford, wise to the fact that many S. C. voters believe there is a soul, led them to envision that his shorts and her bra came off the bodies of "soul mates." It was a religious experience, so it must have merit, perhaps as a way of worshipping God-given breasts. His contemptible amorality can't be forgiven by taxpayers because his post-exposure behavior proves he actually believes a CRIME is a "forgivable SIN." The state's Attorney General should be tracking Sanford's use of public funds and discovering whether he illegally gave favored status to corporations or people.

more female supremacist hate propaganda brought to you by the old girls club. but after all, who should be surprised? they are women right? and 'everybody knows' women are more sexist towards men than men towards women. statistics prove it! that's just the way women are- sexist, bigoted, hypocritical, unjust, vindictive. one wonders why we bothered with the woman's movement in the first place. the traditionalists were clearly right all along-sex determines our potential not our individuality so let's discriminate on the basis of sex-oops! i mean let's not so-er-do-uh-yes-no... Can't wait till they're making the same claims about blacks and homosexuals-oops! they are! haven't you heard of the female/black/gay only schools and classrooms? 'girls can't learn in an environment like that!'(with boy things all over the place).'girls learn differently than boys do'(Jean d'arc school for girls). and of course i should acknowledge the only reason i'm bitter is because i'm a man who's unable to calm down on account of my metabolism which i look forward to using as a defense when any female wants me to take responsibility for anything i have or haven't done to a female. and i'm always wrong- how could i ever be right and her in the wrong but i should try anyways if i'm a good man...
women aren't as sexual as men- therefore morally superior but on the other hand that shouldn't suggest she isn't as entitled to the sex she wants less than me because that would be sexist -but true! etc etc etc
