Who are We the People??Not sure anymore- barely recognize this America. Too many shades of gray. What's right, what's wrong seems to be up for grabs and God is whatever YOU want him/her to be. Where are the rules, the morals, ethics, values? Remember those words folks? Consumerism is the new "Religion" and worship takes place at the Mall.

I found Mr. Morris' & Ms. McGann's book very enlightening. What I found distasteful was the first word in the US News article "disgraced." What has happened to news reporting? As a senior, my mind works just fine thank you. I do not need anyone (or any media) to think or speak for me. I can determine if Mr. Morris is disgraced. Yes, I can get my own tea and even have enough energy to add my thoughts about this book from my computer--gee! Public opinion works well. I've voted in every election. I am not a democrat or republican. US News, I also vote with my dollar.

THE GREAT AMERICAN BUBBLE MACHINE - By MATT TAIBBI - Rolling Stone (Current Issue, July (9-23) 2009) - and two other articles by Matt Taibbi.

"It's a gangster state, running on gangster economics, and even prices can't be trusted anymore; there are hidden taxes in every buck you pay"

From tech stocks to high gas prices, Goldman Sachs has engineered every major market manipulation since the Great Depression - and they're about to do it again

The first thing you need to know about Goldman Sachs is that it's everywhere. The world's most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money. In fact, the history of the recent financial crisis, which doubles as a history of the rapid decline and fall of the suddenly swindled-dry American empire, reads like a Who's Who of Goldman Sachs graduates.

By now, most of us know the major players. As George Bush's last Treasury secretary, former Goldman CEO Henry Paulson was the architect of the bailout, a suspiciously self-serving plan to funnel trillions of Your Dollars to a handful of his old friends on Wall Street. Robert Rubin, Bill Clinton's former Treasury secretary, spent 26 years at Goldman before becoming chairman of Citigroup - which in turn got a $300 billion taxpayer bailout from Paulson. There's John Thain, the rear end in a top hat chief of Merrill Lynch who bought an $87,000 area rug for his office as his company was imploding; a former Goldman banker, Thain enjoyed a multibillion-dollar handout from Paulson, who used billions in taxpayer funds to help Bank of America rescue Thain's sorry company. And Robert Steel, the former Goldmanite head of Wachovia, scored himself and his fellow executives $225 million in golden parachute payments as his bank was self-destructing. There's Joshua Bolten, Bush's chief of staff during the bailout, and Mark Patterson, the current Treasury chief of staff, who was a Goldman lobbyist just a year ago, and Ed Liddy, the former Goldman director whom Paulson put in charge of bailed-out insurance giant AIG, which forked over $13 billion to Goldman after Liddy came on board. The heads of the Canadian and Italian national banks are Goldman alums, as is the head of the World Bank, the head of the New York Stock Exchange, the last two heads of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York - which, incidentally, is now in charge of overseeing Goldman - not to mention ...

But then, any attempt to construct a narrative around all the former Goldmanites in influential positions quickly becomes an absurd and pointless exercise, like trying to make a list of everything. What you need to know is the big picture: If America is circling the drain, Goldman Sachs has found a way to be that drain - an extremely unfortunate loophole in the system of Western democratic capitalism, which never foresaw that in a society governed passively by free markets and free elections, organized gr

The problem with the country is as follows it starts with the real problem, THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS AND WHAT THEY WANT witch is and alway's has been since 1913 full and complete power over the world ,past president's,Obama and future president's and are paid for puppet's by the FRB along with the rest of congress and our goverment and the worthless media.

All i have to say is that if WE THE PEOPLE dont stand up and put Goverment back in the hands of WE THE PEOPLE is that Obama and all President's that follow him will destroy this great nation i mean look at what they have done to this point and they will not stop untill they have complete and total power and you and i are slave's.

PS WE THE PEOPLE ALSO MEANS YOU THE MEDIA REPORT WHAT YOU KNOW NOT WHAT YOUR TOLD.

It is time for the American people to have our voices heard before it is too late. Then, we will no longer live in America, land of the FREE. Stand up American's a throw out all of the Congressmen and Senators that are not listening to you! They do work fo you...to quote Pearl S. Buck

"When good people in any country cease their vigilance and struggle, then evil men prevail.

It's amazing to me how the elite media can turn a blind eye to what is transpiring at present in the Obama White House. We are not only witnessing the death of capitalism, which has given us the strongest economy on earth, but the relinquishing of personal freedoms granted to us by God and written into our Constitution. Why is it so difficult for liberals and progressives to see that the European model of socialism does not work. Nationalizing our economy is not the answer. HIstory has shown that when the government's percentage of GNP rises the economy slides into a vicious cycle of inflation and recession. FDR's New Deal and Lyndon Johnson's Great Society are prime examples of how public sector micro-managing of the economy left us in worse shape than before government intervention. The Keynesian philosophy of "priming the pump" doesn't work in today's environment as more people are saving their stimulus money or paying down debt. No-one is spending the money and the economy is tanking. A more recent example is Japan. After the 1991 Gulf War the Japanese government spent massive amounts of money trying to re-energize their economy and failed. Congress today is attempting to do the same thing and they are doomed to failure as well. If we want to get our economy moving again one only has to look at the failed policies of the past and not repeat them. Obama is creating two classes of Americans: Those who pay tax and those who live off of government handouts. It may be perceived as politically smart, but economically dangerous. Free market capitalism is the only long term working model for our economy. With lower, long term interest rates and broad based tax cuts the private sector is motivated to build or expand their plants, purchase new equipment thereby creating an environment for increased employment which would raise the living standards for all Americans. We need less government in our lives. Our sovereignty is loaned to the government by its citizens. Our rights, given to us by God are inalienable. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are enpowered to us by God and written into the language of the Declaration of Independence. No government can assume or abuse these rights. Sovereignty rests with the American people, not the federal government. Where is Ronald Reagan when we need him?
