Obama and Cheney Face Off: Who Won?

President Obama and former VP Dick Cheney delivered dueling speeches on national security this morning. In the president's speech, Obama argued that transparency and upholding the rule of law are the only ways to fight terrorism effectively. Speaking shortly thereafter, Cheney argued that the Bush administration's policies kept the United States safe after 9/11. Who won? Is Cheney right on national security? Or is Obama? The old administration is gone. President Obamas administration is Who we are dealing with now.

But there is still agreements made under the bush administration that need to be honored. Except those that might be illegal. Torture is illegal and is not an option, I do not blame 9/11 on bush but his handling of it was a bit rash.

I do not believe President Obama has such a weak mind that he will revert to torture but he should be visible to the people and his intentions and policies should also be known.

I believe a certain amount of secrecy in our government is necessary but should be limited and monitored by the proper authorities.

I believe with A watchful eye by the people of the United States Of America President Obama will Protect and serve our nation and interest.

9/11 happened on the Bush-Cheney watch. No one was ever held accountable. I would not trust Cheney with anything. Bush and Cheney made this country less safe by their actions of torture, cherry-picking intelligence for their own purposes, and trashing the Constitution.
