Should Donald Trump Have Taken the Miss California Title From Carrie Prejean?

May 13, 2009 RSS Feed Print

Miss California has stirred up more than a bit of controversy, what with her nude photos and her opposition to same-sex marriage. In a news conference yesterday, pageant owner Donald Trump announced that Carrie Prejean would keep her title as Miss California. "It's the same answer the president of the United States gave," AP quotes Trump as saying, defending Prejean's opposition to same-sex marriage. Trump also defended the nude pictures: "Some were risque, but we are in the 21st century." Is Trump right? Does Carrie Prejean deserve to keep her title as Miss California? Post your thoughts.

Good for her!! It's about time someone stood up and truly expressed how they feel about gay marriage. AND, she did it very nicely and unoffensively. There wasn't any "gay bashing" going on. Carrie has done something that the majority of the USA are thinking. I put to people like Perez Hilton- please find in science and/or nature where 2 of the same sex survive to continue their specie. When you can do that, then true christians may be more open to same sex marriage. (not the gay priests who support homosexulity to justify themselves) More of us need to stand up and express our opposing thoughts. Homosexuality is just not normal physiologically. There's a reason our bodies were created the way they are.

I'm with John from CT. I look forward to more Americans standing up against idiotic things such as this.

Miss California broke the contract she signed. If her employer (The Donald) wants to allow that - hey, all's good. If he also wants her to allow her to miss her duties as Miss California because she is too busy with her speakings with her organization against gay marriage (and, thus one would assume pro-marriage which still has that 50% divorce rating - YIKES, shouldn't we do something about that before bashing gays, but I digress), all is good as they say, in the hood.

However, can I please ask those of you who do not quite know how to spell to simply use Firefox as your browser as it will catch all of your spelling errors. Thus, your lack of education will only be identified by the insanity and scary weird theories you embrace. Look to the sky - the truth isn't out there. =D

To the poster who claimed the "liberals" were "highjacking" our "God given country and courts" - please study history. Our founding fathers wanted nothing more than to separate Church and State. There is nothing God given about this country - our independence was fought for and earned in blood and valor, not handed to our forefathers as a birthright in the name of any God. Our courts come from our Constitution, not God. If you wish to live in a place of God, go join a nunnery or become a priest. This is a secular country with NO TIES TO ANY RELIGION. We welcome all to worship and pray as they choose fit and this is what makes us great.

It is those who preach intolerance, funny enough, that claim they speak for "God." Somehow I doubt that any Creator would want us to hate each other, kill each other in His name, or to deride how we choose or even if we chose to worship. For if we are all one in his image - we are all his children. To spread hatred among his children surely cannot please Him, if he exists.

Should Obama resign?

Many have pointed out that Obama has pretty much the same position.
