We can discuss this all day: the fact of God having left us or not; but we cannot deny at anytime of any war, crucifixion, imprisonment, time of peace, repression, depression, recession, etc., where we did not desire, or require Love to be a part of our lives'.

Now people, is the time to remember the roots to our destiny. Look beyond the pleasures of the body's senses, for this continues to be trap. Our quest for love is more than the word we use to describe these emotions. For Love is greater than the word and greater than emotions aroused from fleshly pleasures and lusts. God is Love, and there is no greater force on the Earth or in the Sea.

The power of Love changes lives. This great dominant Force has been here from the beginning, has never left, and will continue to be a part of people's quest to understand themselves as they seek to find Love, Life, and Peace.

There are far more than two choices, buddy...

You are creating a false dichotomy. It's not as if you either believe in God or nothing. Many people are quasi-agnostic: they believe in a higher power, but don't accept a particular brand of organized religion. All organized religions, however, are polytheistic. For example, the Hindus believe that Brahma created the universe and the other gods in the same way that the Judeo-Christian god created the world and the angels. Calling lesser gods "angels" doesn't change anything: The title of "monotheism" is a fallacious invention. Personally, I'm a Buddhist. I never connected with Christianity because of the following:

1. God creates people in a place where they have no opportunity to meet Christ's teachings, but condemns all who don't accept Christ to Hell: That's sadism and not any god I'd ever want to worship.

2. Christianity is based on the idea of powerlessness and redemption through the savior. Because of this, there is no clearly defined path, just the injunction to "pray."

3. A long list of absurd assertions, including "Gee Cain, where's your brother? I know I'm all-knowing, but for some reason this escaped me." Occam's razor: All things must be caused, so everything must have been created by uncaused creator. Why not just have a universe that has always been and always will be? And, most importantly, if god is all-knowing and all-powerful, then he cannot be all-compassionate because he knows about the suffering of sentient beings and could do something about it but doesn't.

You're welcome to your own choice, but please try not to be so ignorant as to think that there are only two choices....

My mother passed away April 20, 2009. One of the few things that I got absolutely right in my life was following her belief of christianity.

It is very hard to comprihend how anyone could possible believe that they are the highest form of beings in the grand scheme of this universe.

It is people that leave and come back. God has always stayed the same and God will always care for His creation. God goes by different names to different people. Those people that believe in a higher being are usually people with higher self esteem and a higher sense of compassion for others.

It is a relationship with a personal God that makes christianity so attractive. when people hear the message of a loving and personal God that gave his only son as the ultimate sacrifice so we could have eternal life with him they want to be apart of that. that is why revival is rising and the church is thriving.

i didnt know God had gone anywhere.A previous post stated that there are but two choices, but if anyone wants to look at what Jesus actually said "I am THE Way,THE Truth ,THE Life,NO ONE comes to God EXCEPT BY ME ".

So according to Him there is one choice not two,and its choosing to follow Him.The other "choice" is a non deplume.Just as by not marking a voting paper is a no count, one has to mark the paper in order to show a choice of candidate, otherwise its as if you dont exist. So did God go anywhere or was He made redundant or surplus to humanity except for those who believed what Jesus said? One day will reveal all.

1. You believe that matter, energy, all natural law, and time itself, were "eternal" - No beginning and no end. Like God, but with no reason or purpose. You believe that this matter and energy spontaneously blew up (BIG BANG) and then, through happenstance, organized itself in perfect balance - parts of it becoming alive, again without design, through trick of chance and, yet again, perfectly arranging itself in a symbiotic relationship. One, out of the millions of accidental species, became able to reason abstractly and created a God to govern their self made conscience and imagined soul.

2. There is an eternal, benevolent, creative consciousness.

The only thing keeping anyone from making the correct choice is impenetrable skepticism fueled by human ego and pride. Take the first step and make the choice. The second step is knowing that we can, indeed, know the source of Absolute Truth. Then begin the adventure of allowing logic and reason to lead you to Him - Thereby fulfilling His, and your, greatest desire.

In the last analysis, it really does not matter what religious concepts you have or what you want to believe.....ethics and morality is the name of the game.....people do not care what you believe.....what they see is attitude....social and considerate or nasty and anti-social..... ordinary goodwill and cooperation goes a long way in healing our little world... cordially,...Steve..

Interesting article and it is quite possible that the book will sell well because we really do like the christian religion. Liking the christian religion and being a disciple of Jesus Christ is quite another thing. Jesus had a lot to say about religious people and their attempt to "make God in their image". One contributing factor to the downfall of many Nations over the past 2,000 years is the failure to follow Jesus rather than a religion. Jesus calls those who are His to turn from our way and follow His way. The major Christian denominations have spent years creating God in their own image just to seperate themselves from the pack in hopes of gaining followers, it hasn't worked. Now we are faced with separating the pretenders from true disciples to discover the impact the followers of Jesus are really having on the so-called global revival. Good luck with that one.

I am amazed with the idiots that we have in this country. Here we have two individuals that think they have the right Biblical perspective about a living God and all these two are saying is mere ludacris non-sense.Please do not insult the God of my Hebrew and Greek Bible unless you have all the facts together so you wll not appear to be down-right stupid. If you have any questions for this pastor, call me at 813-684-6005
