Obama's 100 Days: The Roosevelt Comparison Is Fair

And what would have happened if continued Bush's inaction? Do you have a clue what the depression was like? We were there for sure, thanks to Bush and his cronies. Obama had the courage to take action instead of helping Bush's rich buddies get richer.

The article is comparing Obama's 100 day performance with FDR, something not even aplicable to most other presidents in history. The critique of Obama's performance comes pretty far down in the article and consists of possible clashes in two varying themes of the way he intuitively thinks about the role of government, and some of the aims of the goals he has laid out. It's a forward-looking critique, not one looking back onthe first 100 days, which have been stellar considering the crap he stepped into.

For all you rush-loving rabblerousers, shouting "commie" this and "my kids will be born in debt" that...

"Obama's stimulus would have been four or five separate new laws: the biggest tax cut ever, the most significant energy conservation program in history, the largest single federal investment in education ever, and the biggest infrastructure bill since the creation of the interstate highway system in the 1950s."

Even in light of these facts you still try to blame the tail end of the economic downturn (began by market fundamentalist republican politicians and oligarchical businessmen) on our current president. What happened to your vaunted patriotism and flag waving?

You are the ignorant one. My children will be born owing this federal government $40,000 when they come out of the womb when you figure out what your talking about before you even start to call someone ignorant your socialist little pr*ck, let the big kids talk.

According to gallup, Bush's was 58% and Obama's is 63%

Obama's first 100 day ratings are below Bush's. Is that a good thing, bad thing or irrelavent? History will score the President fairly and he has made some very significant bets - let's all hope he is correct. He is the first black President of the United States and that alone sends volumes about America to the rest of the world which will be in and of itself a major force for good. He has also spent more money in these 100 days than the entire 8 years of the previous President. His appointees have had similar issues which only shows that his campaign focus was not followed with diligence in the management of his office. He, like all Presidents, has made some decisions I'm sure he would like to go back and change. Hopefully, he is learning. Certainly he would agree, "Heavy is the head that wears the crown."

100 days and still people haven't figured it out that they've elected COMMIE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUvwKVvp3-o) with delusions of unilateral disarmament (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnTaWTfwsFU)...

Then again it was the Peggy Joseph types (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI) and the Henrietta Hughes types (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_EyEPnQvy4) came out in force and abysmally ignorant of who they elected (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm1KOBMg1Y8)...

First of all, 100 is with a "1" not a "j"...

It just occurred to me that you are too ignorant (seems willful)

too misinformed, too angry and jaded and tragic to have a reasoned, logical conversation with.

So, I'll just say: Get a clue, Get over it, Get some knowledge-delusions don't count and instead of getting in the serial killer line-Get a life!

Mr Alter,

I don't know what for rock you just crawled out from under but you must of been under one for the last 100 days. However you are right Obama has no management experience He appointed a tax cheat as the Head of the Treasure Department what a joke..... He has all ready spent more money in 100 days than President before him ever spent.......He created a debt for this country that the next 2 generations will probably not be able to pay off.....He traveled all around the world telling other countries that He is sorry for the way we acted in the past bowing down to kings and shaking hands with thugs and thats our leader what great support he showed for the country that made him President............thanks but no thanks come on 2012....

The results after trillions of taxpayer's dollars:

"The U.S. economy shrank at a worse-than-expected 6.1 percent pace in first quarter."

Just the beginning

Hope everyone is buying Gold.
