We do have to have international cooperation to deal with todays threats but not every country wants to play along.
Granted, it's a great bedtime story but you still have countries and splinter groups that are angry with the US about the Crusades of all things. The USA didn't even exist but as former leader of the Western World...
"Death to America" our new Iranian budies chant. Ex-KGB Russian leadership and of course China whose human rights record we convienently "overlook" can't wait for that moment that the USA stumbles. Whoops, too late.
Obama went on his latest "campaign" tour and came back empty handed. No support in Afganistan, wisely rejected deficit spending to match the US and a definate demeaning and mis-representation of America.
Until every country "grows up", best to be the gentle giant.
