Who Should Control the Nation's Financial Industry?

Financial institutions or the government?

April 6, 2009 RSS Feed Print

In today's Data Points, we site this Rasmussen poll, which states that "only 11% of Americans think a financial institution will run better if it's run by the federal government." According to the same poll, 67 percent of Americans think financial institutions are better off self-controlled. Who do you trust to control the nation's financial industry, the government or the financial institutions themselves? Post your thoughts.

I think the government should run the financial industry! That way in about 24 months we wouldn't have to worry about bailouts! We wouldn't have anything to bail out! Based on what Obama is saying, we are no longer a christian based nation, so why do we need banks for anything. When I grew up you never heard of Bank of the USSR, so why Bank of America. They didn't need it, so neither do we! How about the Cave Bank of Afghanistan, or the Bank of Turkeys, maybe something that really works, the Federal Reserve, they can make their own money! We already have Goverment Motors, how about Government Street Bank or Government Insurance Company, how about Government Grocery! The IRS can just give credits and control your pay, you get one they get five. You get one, they get five! Or better yet, you get to work they get to tell you where and for how much.

Oh my, wasn't this what Mr. Lincoln put a stop to? Mr. Obama wants to reinstate it, only now he is the slave master...

Oops, that wasn't politically correct was it?

"In God we Trust"....our politicians have all forgotten the meaning of american free enterprise capitalism with competition, the goose that lays the golden eggs.....we now are the worldwide victims of cartels and monopolys the mainstay of every totalitarian government and dictator and the enemy of our constitution and Bill of Rights.....the politicians have been paidwell by the lobbyists and they have jumped through the hoops for a fee or bribe instead of invoking the Sherman anti trust Laws which is why it does not matter who steals your tax dollars because the system is getting worse not better.....we need to become self reliant on energy and tell the world to help themselves for their problems and get off our backs.....
