Is the War in Afghanistan 'Obama's War'?

The president announces his administration's plan for Afghanistan

March 30, 2009 RSS Feed Print

On Friday, President Obama announced his new strategy for the war in Afghanistan. The AP reports: "President Barack Obama on Friday ordered 4,000 more military troops into Afghanistan, vowing to 'disrupt, dismantle and defeat' the terrorist al-Qaida network in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan." With Obama's plan announced, has the war in Afghanistan become "Obama's war" as this USA Today article suggests? If not now, when? Post your thoughts.

President Obama won the election and he inherited the mess created by the Bush-Cheney team....we should break the oil cartel in our country and bring back competition to our american free enterprise capitalism and put some teeth into the banking industry by more oversight ,etc to say the least..next we should get out of foreign wars in Asia and europe we do not need them, they need us and retire to north and south america and the Monroe Doctrine....

It's about time Obama made the Presidency his. It will do no good for his credibility to continue to complain about what he inherited. It all became his when he said "I DO". If you inherit a dilapitated house from a relative who failed to keep things up, it's yours as soon as you accept the key to front door. It's yours from day one and complaining about what you inherited is the wrong focus. Of course he is under pressure from Congressional Dems to say this because of the coming elections, but it cheapens his Presidency.
