A new government report shows the decrease in 2008 home prices in to be the highest on record

  • 8.2: Percentage decrease in U.S. purchased home prices from 2007 to 2008
  • 4.5: Percentage decrease in value of U.S. homes from 2007 to 2008
  • 44: Number of states in which home prices fell over the last four quarters
  • 19: Number of the top 20 cities with the greatest home price declines which were in California or Florida
