I would have more hope if the Israelis had elected a moderate government. The Israeli far right wants to grab all of the West Bank, bomb the Palestinians until they leave Gaza, then grab that too. They think GOD says they should have the West Bank.

God must be weary of being dragged into religious extremist justifications for killing, greedy land grabs, and hate....

That's why Jesus showed up - his Beatitudes were revolutionary - "Blessed are the peacemakers..., blessed are the meek..."

The truly strong are those who do not injure or steal from others, no matter how many temptations are placed in front of them...
