Since taking office, President Obama has lifted the ban on funding for international organizations that promote or perform abortions, known to abortion rights advocates as the "global gag order" first introduced under President Reagan, repealed by Clinton and reinstated by George W. Bush. Though Obama enjoys high approval ratings for his first couple weeks in office, a majority of Americans disagree with Obama's decision. According to a recent poll from Gallup: "Fifty-eight percent of Americans disapprove of Obama's decision to lift this ban, while only 35% approve of it." What do you think of Obama's decision to rescind the global gag order? Should an aid group's stance on abortion dictate the funding it receives from the U.S.? Post your thoughts.
