Is Obama Moving Too Fast in His First Few Days in Office?

January 23, 2009 RSS Feed Print

The Associated Press sums up President Obama's second full day in office: "President Barack Obama moved quickly Thursday to reshape U.S. national-security policy, ordering the Guantánamo Bay prison camp closed within a year, forbidding the harshest treatment of terror suspects and naming new envoys to the Middle East and Afghanistan-Pakistan." This in addition to the moves President-elect Obama made during the transition into office—specifically, asking Bush to request additional TARP funds from Congress. Is President Obama moving too fast? How much does he expect to get done in his first few days in office? How much should we expect? Post your thoughts.

Provide concise evidence of this fascism: Names, dates, and evidence.

You cannot, because NOTHING the Bush administration did met the definitions you posted. That is because we have a constitution and elected officials who protect it.

It is really pitiful that there are so many ignorant people in this country, especially with our exceptional 24x7 access to facts, historical archives, to include transcripts and photos. Using this term so loosely is an insult to the millions who have suffered and died on our planet fighting true fascism. GROW UP.

F. Brown - you seem to be up in arms about our RIGHTS yet you don't even know what the roles, rights and functions of our government are.

Obama cannot do most of what you list. Read the constitution before you start claiming that the rights secured by it have been violated.
